"Does Peter have to come to Disney with Us???"

Now Pam, if you pull out your hair, that will bring up a whole new set of problems such as the cost of hair extensions, etc. It will be fine!

Thank you for putting that into perspective for me. I hadn't thought about it that way :rotfl: Oh, i'm laughing right now!!!! Oh, I can't wait to hang out with you guys!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR ANN, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!

Ok, i'm done now, i hope you enjoyed my singing!

Thanks for the birthday wishes Hope and Pam....

Oh, and Pam.....loved the singing!!! And I am so here for you to point out these little details..... :lmao:

Well, it all started last Thursday when I was done with my appointments for the day and yet I didn't have to pick Victoria up for another hour. I decided to go to the bridal shop on Water Street to see if there were any dresses that would look good on Victoria, be age appropriate and matched the colors of the wedding. The shop is going out of business and all dresses are at least 50% off the original prices. So here I was looking around and it's hard to find something pretty, yet age appropriate for a wedding. I did end up finding a really pretty, to the floor light blue one that was very flowing and would look gorgeous on her. Now, there will be no returns as the business was closing and once it was purchased, it is done. Knowing my daughter I could hear her going, "oh Mom that looks like crap". Seriously, she'd say something like this. She really doesn't hold back much. :headache: I almost walked out of the store with it, but didn't .....oh, need to mention here that it was $50 marked down from $163!!! I should have taken a picture with my camera phone, but didn't. ugh! Saturday morning we get up and I take Victoria to the bridal shop. SHE HATES THE DRESS!!! :scared1: Then she proceeds to prance around the store picking totally inappropriate dresses to wear and to top it all off, she and Peter were fooling around in the store!!! Now, this is very serious to me and I was heart broken that she didn't like it! I told them we were leaving and I was practically in tears! We then did a bunch of little errands and I had to go to Goodwill, so I asked Peter to drive there. (I'm still collecting vases for the reception). I still was pretty upset and wanted nothing to do with either of them at this point, so I'm looking around the clothes just for the fun of it and saw a dress that I was hoping Victoria would like, but I wasn't getting my hopes up, after the disappointment earlier. Well, she comes over and granted, she is not totally in love with it, but she likes it enough to try on. It fits! I will just have to take in the straps a little bit. I look at the tag and it's marked Sample and it's from Debs. Ok, we were just at Deb's and I saw the exact same dress for $69. I'm thinking, ok there must be something wrong with it, but I was told that no, sometimes before these other stores debut their line, they will let samples go out to the outlet stores, etc. Heck, I really don't care where it comes from as long as there is nothing wrong with it. You'll never guess what I paid......$9.99!!!! FOR VICTORIA'S MAID OF HONOR DRESS!!! $9.99!!! It sure beats the heck out of the $50 I was going to spend.....Here's a pic of it from Deb's website:

I think this will be PERFECT for a beach wedding! I cannot believe my luck! So, what started as a horrible, horrible day, ended up all working out for the best. What do you guys think of the dress?

Today is my birthday and this moring we had chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting --- my favorite---- at work. I do work with a really nice bunch of people!! I also had a nice card and a birthday banner on my cubicle! I'm leaving here at 1:30pm due to an appointment with my healthy living coach (yeah, that's been real effective so far ---- did you just read that I had choc cake for breakfast???). I then have to take the dog to the vet for her rabies shot and then go to city hall to get her licensed. I forgot to do it in January, so before I get summonds for it, I better go do it. Then I'm thinking about mowing the lawn before I have to hay it!! :rotfl: Peter is coming home after work tonight and I'm not sure what we are going to do. I am very much a stay at home type of person and going out to eat is not all that fun for me anymore, so I don't think we'll do anything. I do want to buy myself some steamed clams and have that for supper. Peter and Victoria won't eat them, but I love them. But I would feel guilty if I don't make them supper, so I'm not sure what I'm going to do! :confused3 I really want the steamers! Aren't I a true Mainer, eh? Maybe I'll pick up chicken for them...hee hee!!!

My shed is almost finished and then it will be time to level the land and set the pool up! OH, I cannot wait! It's been cold here this week --- in the low
50's and there was a frost last night!! :scared1: The older I get, the more I hate the cold!!

LOVE the dress! I'm glad it all worked out for you. :goodvibes

I'd definately get the steamers for yourself and some chicken for them- no way would I cook food I wasn't even going to eat on my birthday!

And yay for setting up the pool! It's been unseasonably cool here for the last few days as well. I'm ready for the sun to reappear!

Have a great rest of the day!

Wow what a great deal for that gorgeous dress. That dress is perfect for a beach wedding! Excellent job!

That's great too that it's almost time for the pool to go up. I'm comin over :cool1: It would only take me what... 3-5 hours :goodvibes

I LOVE the dress! It looks just right! I'm jealous you are going to set up your pool, we've had cool weather too, but it's warmed up today and I can tell it's going to be a warm summer!

I would love to get to Sea World some day but it is not going to happen this trip. Have a wonderful time and I will looking forward to reading about it!

Happy Mother's Day and Happy Birthday!

I am so glad that the Maid of Honor dress worked out for you--I would be frustrated and upset too. I am glad that day ended on a positive note! You cannot bet that deal if you even tried! :thumbsup2

GOT MY TICKETS FOR SEA WORLD IN THE MAIL TODAY!!!!

Seriously I thought at $39 per ticket, I may have been scammed, but nope, I now have them!!! whooo hooooo!!! :cool1:

Bad news, though......I just read this on Twitter: mousemisers Update on Star Tours closures - Star Tours to close September 8, 2010 at Walt Disney World

On, no!!! I was really hoping for Star Tours to be open when we were there. Big Bummer! Oh well!

But that's great that you got the tix. I would have been nervous too!:goodvibes

Okay, so I was fine with Toon Town being closed......and not too happy when I heard Star Tours was being closed, but now I hear this???

Thanks to a tip, we have learned that ‘it’s a small world’ at the Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom has been scheduled for an extended refurbishment beginning August 1 and ending October 22. The refurbishment is listed on the official Walt Disney World website daily view for those dates and a call to the Resort did confirm the closure. --- From Stitch Kingdom.

Star Tours on ALL Ears is still slated for October. I checked the WDW calendar, it is not listed on the dates I am going as being closed. When I went on to check hours and such today, it had a closure listed for MK (IASW which will be closed from August 1st-October 22nd). So perhaps that is a good sign for you?

I don't know. I heard that there is a party scheduled for the closing of Star Tours at the end of august for their sept 8 closure date! :confused3 I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I was extremely bummed about IASW! We LOVE that ride. Plus it was mine and Manny's first ride ever when we went to MK before we had kids.

So, i'm started to feel a little bummed about everything that will be closed. I guess that's what we get for going at an uncrowded time :confused3 I hope it will be worth it.

I know I'm going to start sounding like a broken record because lots of you follow the same PTR that I do but I'll say it again anyway- When you're at Disney you might have a momentary flash of disappointment as you walk past a ride that's closed but you are still going to have a FABULOUS trip! Don't get too upset, it will be Disney and it will be fun. :wizard:

Yes, I think Hope if right. We'll all be fine. We will probably walk by a closed ride and think "man, I wish that was open" and then keep walking and never think about it again that trip!

I think we're blowing things out of proportion Ann :rotfl: I'm good at that.!!! As long as TT, Soarin, ToT, BTTMR don't close. Oh and HM, which I doubt would close around Halloween time. We'd have to reschedule. Emily wouldn't come if HM was closed.;)

So, Ann, as of tomorrow my ticker will no longer say 4 months and you're right behind me!! I can't wait to see it say 3 months.... :dance3:

Where you be Ann? You must be on vacation from work (LOL) because you haven't posted in a few days!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope all is well!!!!

Sorry Guys. I know I've been MIA, but here's a little bit about what's been going on.....

Hi All!!

As you may or may not know, Victoria went to EMMC on Friday, May 21 to the Pediatric Orthopedic Center. During her last x-rays for a urinary tract infection, the radiologist noticed a slight curvature in her spine and suggested we follow up with her Primary Care Physician. The PCP thought there was reason enough to go see a specialist in Bangor. So, since Victoria has an appointment with the Pediatric Nephrologist in Portland on the 19th and this appointment in Bangor on the 21st, I feel I’ve covered the State of Maine quite nicely!!

She had more x-rays done and met with the doctor. He pointed out where one of her vertebrae was cut during surgery to get to her tethered spinal cord when she was 5. He also pointed out that she is at a 25 degree angle of curve. He stated that since this is the first time seeing her, and since no one has ever noticed or measured the curvature before, this would be the starting point and point of reference. He would like to see her in 4 months to see how she is progressing and he will now be following her until she stops growing --- usually by 15 years, he stated. Also, 2 of Victoria’s vertebrae are fused together. The vertebrae are not supposed to be fused and he stated this is in the same area as the tethering happened. He also stated that it isn’t uncommon that if the vertebrae are fused in one area, they are fused in another area, but he could not determine that as the x-ray was only done from shoulder blades down. He will be doing a complete xray from the neck down next time we go. He didn’t seem overly concerned with the fusion, but can only monitor this as she continues to grow.

He stated she is to continue her activities as normal, but to watch for any signs such as pain in the legs, limited mobility, fatigue, loss of bladder or bowel control, etc. Basically, the same issues I saw with her tethered spinal cord. What needs to be done from here will be determined by how she grows and what happens to the spine. He didn’t even go into what “could” happen as that would be putting the cart before the horse. Why wasn’t this ever caught before now with all the xrays and mri’s she’s had --- that’s an excellent question that doesn’t have an answer. This doctor says they probably just weren’t looking for it but he didn’t know for sure. He also explained that this fusion most likely occurred during the first 10 weeks of my pregnancy so there is nothing I could have done differently.

So, this is where we stand at this time…..her next appointment is in October….AFTER DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!
