Does Osbourne lights close

with the closing time of the MGM park or sooner? I can guess that it starts when it gets dark but am confused as to whether it is open till closing time or not. We are going to WDW on 12/26-12/30 and would very much like to squeeze it in. The calendar schedule says that MGM closes at 10PM that week so I am hoping that we can get to see the lights one night before 10.

The lights are done when the park closes. The best time to see them is when everyone is at fantasmic, you have an easier time to walk threw. But watch out for the crowd at the end of the show. its my favorite place to go at christmas time, its tradition!

The lights operate 6-10 p.m. for the days your'e there...DEFINITELY try to fit them in....they're a sight to behold!

Generally they let guests who leave at the end of the last Fantasmic showing make one last walk over to and through the Osborne lights while the crush for the buses and trams begins.

When we were at MGM in December 04, we went through the Osbourne lights after Fantasmic, along with what seemed like most of the crowd from Fantasmic. It was quite crowded at first, but if you just hang back a little and let people go ahead of you, you'll be able to see the lights at your leisure. The CM's made no effort to hurry anyone along, and we were able to take our time. When you've worked your way through the display, the CM's direct you out of the park. So, unless things have changed since then, you'll be able to see the Osbourne lights after Fantasmic with no problem.
