Does National take money when you reserve?

Since National Car has my credit card info stored (they made me to join the Emerald Club) if I reserve a car through them do they take money off my credit card? All the other companies I reserved through did not take a credit card so I am worried. Thanks!

I've used National Emerald Aisle several times and was never charged in advance. They have your credit card # so that they can process the rental without going to the counter at the airport. You will still have to show your credit card when you exit the garage.

In large part it will depend on the rate you book and the rules related to that rate. If you book a rate that requires payment in full at the time of booking they certainly will charge your card at that time. If you don't book a rate like that they should not charge your card.
