But Belle5, I do think WDW cleans the rooms differently when they are aware a guest has been sick. A couple of years ago our DS2 caught a virus while we were there. He was quite ill and we called for extra towels, clean bedspread etc. They also came and shampooed the carpet while we were there. Anyway, after we checked out our daughter realized she had left something in the bedside table. I went back to the room and there was a cart outside but the maid wasn't cleaning yet. I can't remember exactly what it was, but there was some indication that it was going to be getting extra attention. Sorry for my fuzzy memory but it made me feel better.
Thanks BCV23! This is the kind of thing I was looking to hear. We're a little gun-shy after spending $12,000+ on our family of eight's last vacation in January of 2006 and most of it spent in bed ill. We were healthy the first week and picked up something the second week. My DH had to get off the airplane and go straight to the hospital. No, it didn't come from the hotel room but when I read about people getting sick all over the carpet, etc. I just want to make sure that not only will we not smell anything but that some good disinfectant has been used! Honestly, as much as we have traveled, we have never felt like we have picked up anything from the hotel room itself. Still, when one reads about vomit being all over a room--you just want to know it's properly dealt with...
