Does Kuwait or other countries have different weekends?

I heard last night, and then again this morning that it was the weekend in Kuwait. Did anyone else hear this? I guess I never really thought that other countries may have different weekends than us. Does anyone know if they do, and what their weekend is?

I think that their weekend is Thursday and Friday, which only gives them three business days to do business with Western Countries. My DH was there in the fall, and it was difficult to get things done when you had to deal with the local customs. They don't work a full day. Lab tests at the hospital are very slow in coming, and if you put a "female diagnosis' on a lab or xray requistion, it often disappears. For example, ovarian cysts has to be called abdominal pain. It is a very odd culture.

Well, there is an 8 hour time difference. So, technically it is Friday evening. Friday evening=weekend.

Their Thursday is our Saturday and their Friday is our Sunday, if it makes any sense. Yes, Thursday and Friday is the weekend in some Middle Eastern countries.
