Does it cost to phone another room at WDW?

We've got two rooms booked next month. I've requested interconnecting, but with DS being 18 I know this won't be guarunteed. If we ended up with separate rooms would we be able to phone each other on the in-room phones - and is there a charge?

For that matter how much would it cost to phone a room from one of the park phones?

I think we'll get a couple of the $30 phones that I've read about, but it would be silly to use up minutes on an internal call if we don't need to.

I think all local calls are free, we called a taxi & medical centre & that was free.

Is there a certain code you have to put in to dial room to room?
