Does it bother you to have the blinds open at night?

The ones in the front foyer and dining room stay open because nobody does anything in front of them at night and I like the light coming in when I come down in the morning. There is one window on the side of the house by my couch that stays closed because I feel watched otherwise. The back windows I don't care about because there are woods. What is freaky though is there is another window on the side of our house near a corner where nobody goes in front of so I leave it. The other night though the neighbor tells us that we need to move our big screen tv over about 3-4 inches because he has a perfect view of it from his office window. My mind immediately panicked and wondered if we'd watched any adult movies on it. :lmao: I want to close it now, but I'm afraid of hurting his feelings.:rotfl:

Blinds/Curtains are closed at night. It's a matter of me feeling safe.

I would always hate it when I would babysit and the house didn't have blinds/curtains on some of the windows. I would literally sit with the phone in my hand staring out the window with every single outside light on. The family thought I was nuts!;)
When I was 13 I babysat a little boy all by myself for 3 days. I was basically babysitting, housesitting and dogsitting for the weekend. Their "bare" sliding glass doors looked out onto the backyard that was a big open field. There weren't any blinds or curtains on the kitchen windows either. I remember doing the dishes after I put him to bed and staring down intently so as not to lock eyes with any monsters or peeping Toms looking back at me from the dark. Those were the longest 3 days of my life.

Well, I don't have blinds, so I guess I'm out. But if I did, they'd be open. I live in the middle of nowhere, so who's going to see anyways? And if some crazy thing is coming in to murder me, I don't think my plastic blinds will stop him! (Unless he gets caught in that darn long hanging string thing they have to pull them up and down.....)

Any window that can be seen from the street gets closed when it turns dark. In the dark, I can't see anything outside, but they could see me like I'm on stage. No way!

Open during the day, closed at night - at least in the living room, the bathroom and all the bedrooms.

I leave them open most of the time. In the front the blinds have built in sheers, and our FR and kitchen are in the back of the house, so you can't really see us from the street.

In the back I usually leave them open because our nearest neighbors behind us are 150 yards away, so while you can see the lights are on and someone's home, you can't really "see" anything.

I keep my blinds open all the time, but we live in a small subdivision out in the country were everyone is on 2 acres or more. Our house is positioned so that there is
at least an acre between us and the neighbors and trees block the view.
The only thing that sees us at night are the deers, racoons, fox and skunks.

Don't you people watch Law & Order or CSI???? The insane stalker *ALWAYS* locks on to his targets because they are easy to observe!!!

CLOSE YOUR BLINDS!!!

Durring the day I have to have them open but at night we like them closed.

But the funny thing is, if they are not closed all the way(messed up) my Dh freaks out and has to fix them. He is afraid that the freaks out there will peak in.

My mom had to ask a neighbor to put up a curtain because from her couch she could see his projection tv and his, um, activities. :scared: Poor guy, he was pretty embarrassed.

Yes. I close everything at night. If you don't you might as well stand on a lighted stage.

I knew some people who purposefully walk at night so they can see into people's homes.

Creepy.

Thank goodness they moved out of state.

I like to close mine at night, only because I like to run aound the house in b'day suit. And while I have no problem with it, I don't want to force it on others.

My blinds are closed at night. I like to sleep in complete darkness. :cool2: Not to mention I was in my own backyard one night and figured out just how well the neighbors could see into my bedroom. :scared:

My bro was making a delivery and had called for directions before hand. The lady gave him directions then told him they had a security camera with sound and that he should just honk when he got to her house. On his arrival he commented on the security and she said it was really nice when the neighbors walked down their street not only could they see them but they could hear their discussions and what they really thought of them. :rolleyes1

Yes, it would and does bother me. I keep the blinds closed. Here is why:
1. I once had the job of reviewing criminal court case files. You have no idea how many perverts are out there looking through people's windows. No idea. Let me assure you that they are not looking just for naked folks. They have fetishes... The most random, normal thing can become an object of fixation. That's all I'm saying.

2. Walking around my neighborhood I have inadvertently seen things in people's homes that I am pretty sure they weren't thinking someone could see. You have much less privacy than you think you do.

3. When I was a teenager living in the burbs for a short time, I had a crank call that I thought was legitimate bec they knew so much about me -- turned out one of our neighbors was watching our living room with binoculars at night and knew what I was watching, what homework I was doing, and what I was wearing. He was peering in through a relatively small opening of the drapes but which had a straight shot to the couch.

4. When I was 12 (and in a totally different neighborhood than #3), my bedroom window was very high up and it never occurred to us that anyone could see in. The closest neighbor would have had to climb onto his roof, jump into a tree that was very tall, and then hang upside down from a branch to see into my window. We discovered that he had been doing that for months and watching me undress.
