i remember something being mentioned about a maximum height restriction on the forbidden journey ride when WWoHP was first opened, but now i can't find it mentioned anywhere...

does anyone know if there is a maximum height restriction?...

we're planning on going to IoA in august, just for HP...
we have no interest in IoA at all (been twice, disliked it both times), but we'd like to see WWoHP...
but then i remembered that DS and DH became ill riding dueling dragons last time we went...they figured it was due to the lack of head support (because they're both so tall)...
so we already know they won't be riding dragon challenge...
and if they also can't ride forbidden journey, i started thinking that it would be a bit silly for us to go to IoA just to see a bit of theming....even if it's really good theming...

so does anyone know if you have to be shorter than a certain height to be able to ride forbidden journey?

hmmmm...

we'll be there for the last two weeks of august this year (for 2 weeks of free dining at disney)....so we won't have front of the line or anything like that..

by the way, can you use the express pass in WWoHP?

The Forbidden Journey attraction uses an overhead harness system, so I would have to say that there IS a maximum height restriction. I'm not sure what that height is.

There is NO Express Pass at Forbidden Journey, but you can do a Single Rider queue.

thanks Michael!
i posted this question on the universal board and someone there said there's actually a maximum height stand to measure yourself against at the beginning of the line...
i wonder if that's true....
i've never seen anything like that at any ride before...
so that would make two rides DH can't ride at universal due to his height..
maybe we should sue for height discrimination? after all, people sue disney for everything under the sun.....the stupider the better....let's let universal join in the fun :)

My brother is 6' 6", and was able to ride it, but he was not at all comfortable (probably more for his overall size than just his height). I would think the problem would be less your actual height, and more whether you are really long-waisted (or whether your height is from long legs... since those are hanging down, I bet that's less of the issue). Good luck!!

I'm 6'6" and didn't have any issues riding.

That being said, i do know that at least once when I rode I ending up kicking a dementor when they threw the seat around. my 2nd time riding it I did the ole' "crossed ankles" trick and didn't have any issues with my legs being thrown around and contacting the ride (or my bench buddies.).

There is however some issues with someone's overall size. If you are tall and bulky (either of the hard or soft variety) there could be an issue with the restraints due to their 3 clicks policy. There are test seats outside the ride so you can verify if you'll have problems fitting in the seat. Since the benches never stop moving on the load platform, unlike a coaster w/ the overheard restraints you won't have as much time to "adjust" or try to get the restraint down and locked.
