Does hair affect a teen's behavior?

When my hair was hot pink (for the past year, and I'm 23), people automatically assumed that I was a trouble-maker, obnoxious, etc, none of which are true. I think that hair colour and length can affect other people's perceptions of you, but it doesn't affect your own behaviour. I am the same person whether my hair is brown, blonde, pink, blue, purple, or turquoise.

I have a good kid -

Sounds like teenager to me.

Responsibilities & consequences. He wants to be more independent, be treated as an adult. So give him choices (heck, all kids do better given choices, regardless of age - so do we adults!). "As a member of this household, how do you want to contribute - by doing A or B?" "If you expect to use the family car, in exchange we expect you to keep a clean room and pick it up on Saturdays - not clean, no keys Saturday night...."

I work at the high school here in town and believe me what the kids look like have no bearing on them as a person.
The kids in black, long hair, guyliner, black nails, piercings, (pick your poison) are the nicest group of kids around. Always polite, always talkative.

The short-haired jocks....now that's a bit different. ;)

Seriously. How a kid looks or dresses does not affect their personality. I'm sorry, but to think otherwise is just plain silly.
