We are considering a meal at the Flying Fish on a Friday night in October. We have a reservation for around 7pm and really want to get the Potato Leak Snapper dish (just love it!) Can anyone confirm if this is a limited production entree for the night, and if a 7pm reservation may mean a no-go for us on the Snapper?

I can't confirm for sure, but I highly doubt they ever run out of snapper. It is one of their signature dishes and always on the menu.

BTW, it's delicious!

I doubt they would ever run out of it--it (along with their NY Strip) is their signature entree.
And 7 isn't really that late---

Do you recommend the snapper UncleR?

I do! And every other trip I'll get the steak. Can't miss with either one.

thanks everyone! Had the snapper two previous visits and not sure what I would do without it :)

I need to post a review of Flying Fish from my trip a week ago. In short, I was SORELY disappointed. It was the only signature restaurant I hadn't tried and I was so looking forward to it. The service was horribly slow (constantly waited for water glass to be filled, very long lag time between courses - and I'm a slow eater, so when I sit with an empty/finished plate in front of me for a long time, that's just too long).

I had the cheese board, which was actually very good, but the snapper dish was very bland and the fish itself was overcooked. I found myself wondering what all the raves are about. (Yes, I realize it was probably just an off-night.)

My son had a grilled cheese sandwich and said it was "yucky." I tasted it because it did look off but I figured it was fine - but it wasn't. It really was gross. It was so bad that when the waiter asked if we wanted a box for it I said no, that it was terrible. I don't often complain about food unless it's really bad, and this qualified. I didn't expect it, but he removed it from our bill/didn't charge dining plan credits for it.

Maybe I'll try FF again one day - but for our trip in August, I've already canceled our ADR there and booked something else.

Best thing is to go with at least 1 other adult. One person gets the Snapper and one gets the Ny Strip...and you share! Make your own surf and turf! :rotfl: They're both sooooooooo good!
