Does Fantasy have adult lounge with quiet music?

We like to have a drink and listen to a bit of music before going to dinner. We were always able to do that on the Magic and Wonder, but were not able to the last time we were on the Dream. Any suggestions? We'll be on the Fantasy in October.

Thank you!

La Piazza seems to always have live music around the dinners, sometimes O'Gills has a separate act on certain nights.

Thank you. Yes, we noticed that they have music at La Piazza, but it tends to be pretty loud. Too bad Disney didn't continue the piano lounge on their larger ships.

On the Dream there is a bar called Pink that seems to not get enough credit for the chill environment. While not live, it is where we went prior to dinner for a cocktail and there were always standards playing, or some nights the live band was loud enough to hear, but not too intrusive for conversation.

Agree with above poster. The equivalent on the Fantasy is Ooh La La.

La Piazza is the "piano bar" (at least on our cruises it was).

The noise there isn't so much the music as that it's just a wide spot in the passageway through the area and there's always a lot of traffic (adults and kids) though there. This how it looks as you enter the area from the atrium. The piano is all the way to the left, with Oo La La just past it (entrance by the little tree). O'Gills is to the right

We enjoy when this young lady is playing the piano on board, I believe her name is Clara. We have sailed several times with her. We go wherever she is playing (depending on ship) before dinner for a drink and listen to her.

For those looking for something even quieter (as in no music at all) try either Skyline or Meridian on the Dream/Fantasy.

The music right before dinner on the Fantasy has always been in the atrium when we sailed. If you hit that area a bit early (say at least 20 minutes before dinner time), there is a bar right there in the atrium for getting drinks, and there is a very quiet and comfortable set of comfortable sofa chairs near the MDR entrance, where you can listen to the music and be out of the mainstream of people moving around. It's a nice little retreat. From there it's a short walk to whatever MDR is yours for the evening. We have done exactly what you want many times, and I recommend it.

p.s. There are only 4 of those comfortable seats there, so please don't tell anyone about this! We've always found them empty if we show up about 30 minutes before dinner.

Francisca64, I'm with you. One of our favorite things to do while on the Magic or Wonder is to go to the piano lounge before dinner to relax in the quiet, lovely ambiance while enjoying some very nice piano music and beverages. We love the atmosphere there.

They actually did design a piano bar on the Dream/Fantasy. But the location was so hard to find that it wasn't successful and was closed down. It was the current Outlook space on deck 14. Only accessible by one of the midship elevators or stairs (the ones that go to Edge)

It's now an empty space used for receptions/vow renewals/interdenominational services - whatever needs a space.

Wow, very interesting PrincessShmoo! I've been on the Dream but had our tiny grand-princesses with us so we didn't have much time to explore the grown-up areas. We did find the champagne bar. Nice, but IMHO not nearly as nice ambiance as Cadillac Lounge/Sessions. Next time I'm on the Dream or Fantasy I will have to look for that space you mentioned! :cutie:

DH and I have always enjoyed a drink at the Skyline Bar before dinner...and sometimes after, too. It is one of our favorite spots on the Fantasy.

Now that is good advice! And your first post, welcome to the group!! I agree, the skyline bar is quiet, seems out of the way, the ambience is fantastic, lights are dim, fireplace is a nice touch. W good place to relax anytime, such as before dinner, and it's not too far from the MDRs.

We are not fond of La Piazza at all for a quiet retreat. We like the live music there, the decor is great, the staff there really outgoing, and we do spend a lot of time there, but not for any quiet, relaxing time….there seems to be a constant stream of traffic passing through on the way to/from somewhere. If you are looking for a secluded place to relax before dinner. that's not the spot, IMHO. (very humble!)

Agreed. And if you're going to be heading there often, check out if they still offer the cocktail passport - it'll get you a small discount on 7 drinks, I believe - obviously you can use it over the entire cruise, not in one sitting :)

Champagne at Meridian before dinner is our Fantasy go-to place. No music but the sound of the sea suffices.

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions. I do enjoy the off beat lounges like Skyline and Oh La La, but no live music unfortunately. :guilty: I think though we'll have to head to one of them or possibly Meridian. My favorite would be Meridian since you do get a view. If at port it's nice to sit outside...a bit windy otherwise for right before dinner. Maybe Disney will listen and put a jazz trio or classical guitarist in one of their more quiet lounges...just a suggestion... :rolleyes1
