Does everyone on the Dis have PMS?

I kind of understand how the political threads can get heated, people are so passionate about their views. But it seems like every benign fluff "Whaddya Think?" thread I open turns vicious within 10 posts. It can be amusing, but mostly I am puzzled as to what exactly is everybody so P O'd about? Does anyone else see this?

Been trying to bite my tongue the best I can, but when I see someone getting beat up needlessly, I can't help but come to their defense.. At least part of the problem is that people jump to huge conclusions based on very little information and before you know it, there's a full blown free-for-all..

I think that from now on, whenever I see someone starting to get nasty on a Fluff thread, I will come out and ask, "Who peed in your cornflakes?" That will be my standard response, then I will just sit back and watch. If y'all ever see me post that statement, you will know what I am up to! Watch for it!

I stay away from the political threads, there is just too much drama. I get enough political drama from real life that the DIS is an escape away from it. I'll be glad when it's 11/5, and it will all be over. Of course, then all the holiday drama starts.

I get the funny feeling it won't end then either. My guess it'll definitely be past January before we get much relief---it'll simply become Post instead of Pre!

I agree. This election has brought out the worst in most everyone. After election day the supporters of the person who lost will be bitter and petty and will most likely lash out on the boards.

I had one of my closest friends buzz me today just to pick a fight about the candidates. I don't try to tell anyone how to vote but I have my reasons for making the choice I did. I am so sick of the whole political mess.

It wont be over after the election and it won't just be the bitter people causing trouble either it will be the ones bragging their candidate won too. It takes 2 to tango.

As for me I am just plain old depressed over the whole thing and have been posting and reading alot less because I really don't have much to be happy about right now and I know I tend to get nasty when things aren't going well.
My son just got diagnosed with a 50 percent hearng loss, I have retinitis pigmentosa which I swear is getting worse by the day and my husband works straight commision and it has been UGLY. I don't know how you budget or cut corners when you don't know how much you will make in a month and the income is less then the bills when it never was before. Sorry to whine just one more time....;.

So I am past the point of even giving a crap about fighting over trivial stuff, I dont even care who wins the election I dont think either of them are qualified to help out with this mess and it just doesnt matter to me. If I go to the olls to vote it will probably be in my PJs I will be too depressed to get dressed.
