Does DVC annual pass have free parking perk?

I would imagine so, but we've been staying on-site for a while and it never was an issue. We'll be staying off-site this trip, one week from today!:cool1: Will our DVC annual passes grant us free parking? Thanks!

Your instincts are correct. Free parking is a perk for all AP holders. It has nothing to do with how or under what discount conditions it may have been purchased under.

The only AP that doesn't include Parking is the Florida Seasonal Pass.
That one also has blackout dates.

Note that the annual pass free parking only covers theme park parking, not valet parking @ the DVC resorts.

DVC members get the free valet parking at DVC resorts regardless of where they are staying.

And I'll just add that there's nothing different about the AP that DVC members get; we're just getting a discount on same AP that everyone else gets. So, all the usual AP terms, perks and discounts apply.

I may be wrong but....It's my understanding that parking is free at the theme parks for all guests staying in a Disney hotel. Just show the CM at the theme park your Disney hotel parking permit.

That is correct, but the OP is staying off site and asked if they could park for free at the theme parks with an AP.

Once we were not staying on points and were told that we had to pay for valet parking at the DVC resorts. I'm not sure if this is true for everyone or just our experience.

Thanks. I'm not planning on doing valet parking. We will be eating at a couple of resorts, but just parking in the regular parking area.

I was told we had to be staying on points at a DVCresort to get free valet parking.

The only thing you need to show the valet is your DVC member card.

They have no way of knowing if you are staying on points or even on property for that matter. I also believe the normal valets don't really care.

If you are staying on property, make sure you move your parking pass from the front window of your car or they may charge you.

You were misinformed.

They can tell by the parking pass they give you for the car when you check in. If you are staying on points, it will say "DVC". However, if you remove it - then I guess they only have your word.

Yes. Or once again an inconsistancy in how CM's are trained. :confused3The time we were charged for valet I hadn't realized it until we got our bill at check out. I went to the front desk of the resort we were staying at (BWI) and was told the same thing - free valet was only for members staying on points. (This was from the front desk manager) They took the charge off - but only because the CM returning the car to us didn't tell us it was being charged to our room.

Any member can use the free valet parking at DVC resorts to visit the resorts, regardless if they are staying on a points reservation. It's not a perk of the stay, it's a member perk. That's why non-member renting a reservation from a member are not entitled to that perk.

To the OP, the AP was really great this past spring when I was in Orlando for a week long meeting. I rented a car and drove to WDW every evening, parked for free at the theme park parking lots with the AP and had a great time.
