Does DTD parking fill up on busy days?

DTD parking gets very busy on the evenings and weekends.

Yes, DTD parking does fill up around the holidays, evenings, and weekends. In addition to DL visitors, AP holders know the parking is free, and the locals use it to chill and watch the fireworks.

During the holidays you have MHP, Candlelight, and a few other activities which add to the crowd. DTD recently introduced Olaf's Village and skating rink near ESPNZone.

I have definitely had times where I can't find a spot. If the main lot (by ESPN Zone) is full, they will re-route you to Simba by PPH. I've never seen that lot closed as well, but I've had to drive around for a long time to find a spot before. I know people for whom it's taken an hour to find parking. There are always people coming and going though so I'm not sure it's ever really "full."

Yes, I have seen it closed numerous times. Especially around Christmas/New Years/4th of July.

Why not park at PPH or at the Simba lot?

instead of being free for 3 hours, it would be $17 at the Simba lot or $17 + 6/hr at the PPH lot If I understand correctly. (I'd rather be wrong)
