Does DL hours ever change from what's on their calender?

I'm going in 12 days and I just noticed that DL is only open until 11pm on Monday the 14th and Tues the 15th. I thought this was odd, since it is the begining of spring break. Does that mean I can hope for slightly lighter crowds those days? Or is it possible DL will extend thier hours those days until midnight? I know one hour isn't much, but it's one of the best hours in the park, IMHO.

They could change, but two weeks out they are pretty much locked in place. The best hour will be 10-11 so make the best of it.

Usually what appears on the website is set in stone. The only times I have ever seen things change is when they shorten the park hours to accommodate a private party (big corporation that buys the park out, or someones' 16th birthday party). They did extend hours last summer when they had to add 3rd shows for WOC in DCA, but that is rare... 11pm is still pretty late for a Monday and Tuesday night! The 14th is the first of the 2 biig Spring break weeks.... I think the following week is when most schools in the Anaheim area are on their spring break. ;)

Only? Midnight is really the latest the Park is ever open (except NYE or special events) so, 11pm is pretty late.

You probably already noticed that the Park switches to opening at 10am to 8am or 9am and being open until 11pm (weekdays) from 8pm starting the week you are asking about and maintains a midnight closing on the weekends. Those are pretty big extended hours. Up to 5 additional hours depending upon the day!

That's a lot of extra time.

If you look at the calendar, you will also see that the hours increase to their fullest extent from 4/17 - as far as the calendar is filled in (4/25). Why? Well, because THAT is the two weeks that are the peak of Spring Break and can be expected to be the busiest. "Why is that, Dreams?" you may ask. Well, because it's the week before and the week after Easter - which is when the largest percentage of schools have Spring Break.

As for DL extending until midnight while you are there, there's always the chance if the Park is extremely busy. However, it is the very first week of almost 2 months of Spring Break so I would not count on it. Stranger things have happened though. Keep in mind though... longer hours are generally due to more crowds. So if it were me, I would hope to NOT have the hours extended because it means that the crowd-level does not need it. :)

Hope this helps,
Dreams

I have not seen DL extend hours. However, I have been in DCA when they've extended the closing time by 1 hour. Usually late in the afternoon on a busier than expected day they will announce the park will stay open 1 hour later than planned. Never seen this happen at Disneyland.

Sorry to HJ this thread, does anyone know when Disneyland usually updates their calender to show hours of operations (for dates not yet showing?) As someone said, they only have dates listed up until April 25th... Do they add hours of operations dates every Monday or something? Anyone know if they have a set schedule for updates or is this just something that they do with no schedule for posting their schedule? Thanks!

The calendar usually has hours and basic entertainment about 2 months in advance. It fills in all the entertainment about 1 month in advance.

we've gone in April a few years back. for two or three days it was raining constantly. the last day of the rains (as it turned out) was our arival day. very empty park. The next day the clouds disappeared and the sun came out, beautiful day. the park was scheduled to close at 8pm. at around 2pm the "voice" announced that the park would remain open until 10pm. It was busy, but not super crazy busy like summer or christmas. the weather stayed nice until around 4pm on our last day, right as we were leaving.

They do extend hours occasionally, like Goofy_Mom just posted. It just doesn't happen too often and only announced on that day, so you can't really plan for it. It did happen as recently as a few weeks ago. On Sunday, Feb. 13, Disneyland was scheduled to close at 10pm, but it was announced in the early afternoon that the park would close at 11pm instead. Now I felt it was odd that the park was scheduled to close at 10pm in the first place, so the extension probably just made things go back to "normal".

Still, it's certainly possible for your trip. Just don't count on it, and if it does happen, then you get a bonus! The flip side, as Disney Dreams wrote above, is that park hours would be extended due to higher than expected crowds. So, you would be dealing with larger crowds, if a closing extension is warranted. Regardless, I hope you have a great time on your trip! :goodvibes
