Does Disneyland Lose "The Magic" As an Adult?

I am probably the oldest of the group here. I am 61 y.o. I had a chance to go to the park on opening day and many days to follow until I left SoCal in 1966. Up until last year I worked out of the country 9 month's of the year and everytime I return I feel like I did when I was younger.
The park has evolved and many changes have taken place over the years just as many changes have taken place in my lifetime. But it is still the park that Walt built on a dream and it will always be that whether I am 8 or I am 61 or more. Believe me I still enjoy the older attractions just as much as POTC, TOT, screamin, Space, Splash and all the rest. As someone else stated" The Magic can only go away if you let it"

The very first time I went to Disneyland I was 41 and it's still the single best thing I've ever done.

I was there with my 2 daughters, and I'm sure that heightened the experience, sharing the magic with them, but I was still bowled over by just how wonderfull it was.

It is probably more magical for me as an adult than it was as a child. I know that I am more excited about our upcoming trip than my 10 year old is, and she's been once before (though I think that may change after this trip; last time she was pretty nervous about things so didn't have as much fun as she might have). The added anticipation and planning that I can do as an adult make it even more special. I went several times before having children, and have gone with children, and both were wonderful experiences. I'd go every year if I could :) Don't worry at all!

I went to Disneyland for the first time when I was about 10 years old. It was amazing at that age (+ there were so many kids in our family, we rarely went on ANY kind of a vacation, let alone one as exotic as Disneyland!) I remember that I had a classmate who went there every summer, she moaned every June, that they "had to go to Disneyland". I was so jealous of her, but I imagine the drive there was boring, plus they probably went because they visited family down there.

I have enjoyed going with my siblings, my husband and my kids. Now, it's usually just DH & I, and we love it. I am so glad to be married to another Disney nut. So, no, the magic doesn't go away for us, it has changed, but it doesn't go away!

My first trip to DL was when I was 16. Each trip just gets better and better. Once I had kids and started taking them, I truly fell in love all over again because I got to see DL through a child's eyes. There truly is no greater joy than the look on my kids faces!
