Does Disneyland discount their hotels?

We are coming to DL for the first time (after many WDW trips) in April 2016. I know at WDW there are often discounts announced seasonally with early dibs for Chase visa holders. Does the same thing happen at DL? Is there a board/place to follow to find out about any discounts?

Occasionally. But they only have 3 to fill and crowds have been up. So discounts lately have been very low and very limited in duration, only during certain weeks.

Your best bet is to watch for rooms on Orbitz or Cheaptickets and combine it with an ebates rebate.

I always check mousesavers.com; they usually update daily on which discounts are currently available for the hotels, whether it be for Disney Visa holders, military discounts, general public discounts, or current orbitz/cheaptickets discount codes. Good luck! I'm currently waiting for them to post any news on December discounts, but I'm not holding my breath since it's a busy year and the hotels will fill up with our without discounts.

We were able to get a deal of $180 for the DL hotel during Dapper Day Weekend through their convention pricing. Does anyone know if there are other conventions one can piggyback on?

The other significant public one is gay days in October. Most of the others are private conventions that require registration and attendance to receive those good rates.

For me, one of our big trips is dapper days because of the great convention rate. It's VERY hard to pay standard or even AP rates after that. I pretty much stopped and stay off site at desert inn for any other trips we take that isn't one of the dapper days in spring or fall.

Dapper Day is May 1, 2016 but they offer convention rate discounts for the week before and the week after. We have rooms at the Grand Californian Hotel April 30 thru May 3 for $257/night. Better hurry. They only set aside a certain number for the event and they get sold out . I would call to talk with someone instead of booking online.

Easter break is a couple weeks before this and the week after is a Marathon weekend so very crowded those two occasions

DL does have discounts here and there, but they generally are not as good as what you find at WDW. We find that spending 4 nights in a DLR hotel, can often cost us the same as what we spend for 7 or 8 nights at a WDW deluxe hotel (just FYI- the DLR hotels also tack on $17 a night for parking when you get there if you bring a car, as opposed to WDW where parking is free if you are staying at the resort). DLR is great though. We have developed a love of both coasts. We originally thought we would just make one trip to DLR, I can't imagine giving up DLR now!

The discounts for DLR rooms also seem to come out closer to trip dates than the WDW discounts. Your best bet is to do what a lot of people do for WDW as well, which is just to go ahead and book the room, and then if a discount comes out you can book a new room with the discount and cancel your original reservation.
