Does Disney Reserve rooms for non-DVC guests?

My Husband and I tried to book a studio at BCV for a week in August. We were unable to, and we ended up having to stay at BWV for half the trip and OKW for the other half. We really had our hearts set on BCV because that is where we stayed for our honeymoon (we own at OKW). I was just playing around on the WDW website and wanted to see if I could book at the BCV through them, and they had rooms available. Is that normal? Does Disney reserve rooms at the BCV for people to rent at rack rates? Just wondering.

As i understand it there is a small percentage of rooms in each DVC resort reserved for cash ressies.

Also, any points that have been traded out to WDW resorts will make rooms available through CRO that are not available to DVC.

And points traded to non-DVC locations for cruises, Disneyland, Buena Vista Trading, Concierge Collection...all of them are made available for cash through CRO to recoup money so DVC can pay for those trades.

Are you on the waitlist for BCV?

No, we are not on a list for BCV. We are on a wait list for BWV for the days that we are supposed to be at OKW. We are keeping our fingers crossed.
