Does Disney on Ice allow DSLR's?

My wife bought tickets to Disney on Ice in October... I am curious if they allow DSLR's in.... I know most concerts only allow P&S's, but figured it may be different for Disney events... Has anyone been to one of these recently and had any luck?

I took my DD last year to see High School Musical on Ice and I had no problem.

I didn't bring a camera to any of the Disney on Ice shows I've been to because I figured they wouldn't be allowed. To my dismay for the last one we went to(we had front row for Nemo) I noticed many people had slr's and p&s's. I used my phone's camera:(

I think Disney on Ice allows DSLRs, but that can be overridden by the venue's rules. We have 2 locations in town where we've seen Disney on Ice through the years. One has a metal detector and an arena policy against anything with a removeable lens :confused3.... The other (where last year's show was) has no such policy. In fact before last year's show they even made an announcement that they encourage and welcome photography.

Have fun! I really enjoyed shooting to my heart's content! :goodvibes

Thanks all for the info... i guess I will have to call my venue and ask them specifically... :thumbsup2

I looked through your Flickr account... Your DD is adorable! I have pictures with my DD with every princess except Ariel... We never saw her at all last year when we went... I love you night pictures of the castle and the fireworks...

I am very upset... I emailed my venue and asked them about bringing in my DSLR, and they said that most performances do not allow DSLR cameras, only P&S's... I figured this meant that Disney made the ultimate decision, so i checked the Disney on Ice website, and they say under FAQ's that they only allow non-professional cameras in for personal use. I emailed Rose Quarter back to get their definition of non-professional. They tell me today that they consider all DSLR's to be professional and don't allow them in as you can "get pretty close to the performers with the zoom lenses you can buy." What a bunch of crap... You can get pretty close with P&S's too, but apparently that is okay... I guess I will have to leave my Nikon at home, and bring my P&S to the event...

I thought about printing out the Disney policy, and bringing my DSLR, and telling them that it does not meet a professional status and that i am just taking pictures for my home use which meets thte Disney on Ice policy... i doubt it will work, and I really don't want to leave my camera in the car unattended for that long, so I will most likely just suck it up and take the P&S :headache:

I've brought my DSLR to 2 different venues for the Disney on Ice show - no problems at all.
