Does Disney keep a record . . . .

This isn't that important, but my husband and I have been arguing over whether or not Disney has a record of each individual person who uses their parks with a Park Hopper Pass. I don't think they can with the individual day tickets, but with ANY kind of pass I'm sure they keep a record! He says it's way too much information to continually store. What do y'all think?

I know that if you use an annual pass of any kind at any park they keep track of when you come into the park and they do store the information to use later. I don't know how long that they keep it, but I do know they store it. That's why you can't stick your AP through the new ticket processing scanners at the front gate of DL and DCA. The computer that stores the AP info is still on the old system (the bar code reader that the CM uses when you enter the park) but they are working on melding the two systems together so AP's can run their own cards through the turnstile card reader.

I'm just waiting for the day that they record your AP number when you use the AP for a discount at a store or restaurant. Right now, they merely know that an AP was used, not the AP'ers name and all the other info that they have on file about you.

This last January, our last day of the trip, we hopped from Epcot (breakfast) to MGM. At neither location was any of the finger scanning for AP's working. Their system was down.
Worked out to our advantage.
We were at MGM just to ride ToT, RnRC, back and forth.
Soon, we weren't able to get any FP's. I forget what the error message was. CM's had to manually give us FP's.
The systems had come back up, and according to them we weren't in the parks. So the FP machines wouldn't work for us.
The machines kept spitting out FP's when the CM's worked something in the back, and they gave them all to us. :bounce:
Great end to a perfect vacation. ;)
So it is amazing what they do track with passes. I am surprised they don't track any more than they do. Or do they? They would see allllll my pin purchases. ;)

At WDW they know and keep track of when you enter a park. They of course, don't know when you leave, because you don't use the card to leave. A CM at guest relations gave me this info once. This for an AP.

Great information! Thanks, everyone! What I we're asking about (and maybe you've answered that and I just don't get it) is if they know the name and address of each person using a park hopper pass. Say Bob Mickey Smith of Eugene, Oregon buys a three day park hopper pass, does Disney track that Bob M. Smith of Eugene used the pass, or simply that that particular pass was used? Do you see what I'm asking? Sorry if I'm either not saying this right, or if I'm too dense to understand your responses!

If they can track to the detail you mentioned, it's probably not extremely important. I only say that because John Doe can go to any Disney Store and buy a park hopper without giving his name & address. Can they tell that ticket number 8459657421359 was used at 10:47 at the MK gate on 6/10/03? I don't see why not.

If what you're asking is "If Bob Mickey Smith of Eugene, Oregon uses his pass once and then gives it to his brother Billy to use on HIS trip to WDW, will Disney be able to track that", the answer is no. It will register that the pass was used and that it now has only one day left on it instead of two. You are generally not asked for ID when you use passes, so no one will be able to discern who used the pass.

If what you're asking is "If Bob Mickey Smith of Eugene, Oregon buys a pass but gives it to someone as a gift, will the Disney scanner read "Bob Mickey Smith" when the pass is used," the answer is no.
