Someone on the Universal board showed me a great picture of people dryers at IOA. Does Disney have any people dryers near Splash Mountain or water rides?

I haven't seen any!

One place I thought they would have at least the hand air dryers is at the washroom/change room by the pools at the resorts. Good thing I had a ziplock for my nieces swimsuit.

They have people misters instead!

they need some next to Kali river rapids! the amount of times I've seen a line of ladies to get their skirts under the hand dryers.. me included, that ride will either leave you dry or leave you soaked through lol

I've seen huge fans at the exit of Kali during a January trip. I think they were heated. It was cool that day.

They don't have dryers near Kali but isn't it interesting that they sell T-shirts right outside of the ride! :rotfl2: I had to buy one after I rode a few years ago, that was AFTER I went & stripped naked in the bathroom & wrung out everything down to my underwear & socks!

What a wet T-shirt contest you can see at the exit of that ride!! :scared1:

At DAK, they have XLERATOR® Hand Dryers in many of the restrooms.

They put out a huge amount of air at a very high speed.

Click HERE for a look at the hand dryers.

You're right when it's cold they have brought out giant blow dryers at Kali.

I just looked these people dryers up as I've never heard of them, and they seem quite interesting, although you have to pay $5 for a 4 minute dry. This seems like something Disney wouldn't introduce (whereas I can quite imagine US charging people extra for this) but then if it was free you'd need loads of them due to the ride turnovers.

Pity there isn't a people sized version of the Dyson Airblade, they are an amazing hand dryer (well, as amazing as hand dryers go I guess!!)

Dyson markets his products in the States, too.

The XLERATOR® Hand Dryers that I mentioned in my post #7 above are similar in their powerful air flow.

I literally just edited my post as I realised he probably sells to other countries as well!

How about a combo xlerator-airblade dryer? Then you'd definitely be dry :D

I don't remember seeing those xlerator ones at DAK, I'll have to have a look next time I'm there

I didn't do the water rides last trip to Universal, so I didn't try the people dryer. Not sure why you would say it seems like something Disney wouldn't introduce, while you can see Universal charging extra for this... Its not like Disney is against overpriced merchandise/experiences! :rotfl: Not sure if I'd spend the $$, but at 5 bucks it is cheaper than buying a t shirt as another poster mentioned, and you wouldn't have to haul around your wet stuff the rest of the day.

While merchandise/food prices are expensive in line with most theme parks.....Disney does not do a lot of "extra" cost stuff in their parks. Many theme parks have special rides that cost extra or just seem to nickel and dime....WDW has historically tried to keep the cost at the gate the cost needed to enjoy the park and refrained from these "extras".

They have people dryers at dollywood as well. They cost a couple of dollars if I remember correctly.

We met up with some friends in July at Universal and after getting off of Popeye and Ripsaw Falls my friend decided to try these so called "people dryers". It was the biggest waste of $5.00 I've ever seen. You'd probably get dryer by using your $5.00 bill to fan yourself off. He came out of the machine still wet and $5.00 lighter.

Dyson Airblade handdryer is located at DTD marketplace in the bathroom of Ghirardelli

This is kind of what I was thinking when I wrote it would be an un-Disney thing, I found when going to US (and to that end SW and BG as well) there were a lot of extras in the different parks like feeding animals, banks of arcade games/machines, additional ride experiences (e.g Skytower), hiring of lockers for certain thrill rides; that cost more on top of your entrance fee, whereas at Disney you feel that you could get a full park experience with just the cost of your entrance ticket.

We used them. They worked pretty well. The 5.00 bucks for 4 minutes wasn't enough time though so we had to splurge for another 5.00 to get mostly dry.

One of those would have been great on our Memorial Weekend trip this year when the skies opened up pouring down rain just as we got on KRR. We were all soaked to the skin before we even hit the water parts of the ride. I was sure wishing we'd put on our ponchos that day!
