We are crusing with friends on 5/17 and they wanted me to ask if DCL sells the jars of baby food onboard....I know they sell formula, but do they sell the baby food? They have a 7 month old and wanted to know approx prices as well.

I guess they want to figure out if they should lug all their own or buy onboard.

Also, anyone know the brand they sell, if they do sell it onboard?

Thanks...

MJ

I didn't see any, and if they do sell it, they probably wouldn't have enough for a whole supply for a week or would be prohibitavily expensive. I know WDW does sell baby food, but for something ridiclous like over $1 per jar. Your friends will probably have to bring it with them. Tell them to check with the airlines, because with the glass jars, I'd recommend carrying that on, but I read a post a few week ago that the airlines don't allow glass jars of baby food to be carried on. They might have to pack it, which being glass would be a problem. The only thing I could suggest would be to either rent a car and drive themselves to the port and stop along the way and buy it, or get a towncar service to pick them up and then stop at the grocery store.

Gerber sells the plastic containers a fruit. They were perfect for our trip with our six month old. Also they can get mashed carrots, potatoes from dining.I brougth tons of food with me in my carryon to the ship.DCL had no problem with it. I even took about 10 jars back off with me.
We carried the baby and put the luggage with all the jars in the stroller. We also bought the powder formula and water bottles with us as carryons.

We just finished sailing with our 10 month old and solved the BabyFood situation by getting it once we got down there. We took Tiffany Towncar and our driver stopped at a grocery store for us to get Jar food and formula. They had cool gerber flavors that I'd never seen before up here in Virginia! Guava and Papya! Strange! Anyway, we had a list of what we needed and just grabbed it and went. Made things much easier than lugging it in the airport.

This probably won't be the case with your friend's baby since he/she is only 7 months, but we got 30 jars of baby food for our little one and only used three the entire trip! She much preferred to eat table food, we discovered. We had to tip our servers extra well because we felt guilty about the mess that she made! :)

Ohhhh! Also, the Dining Manager lady said that they could mush up anything that we might need for the baby, so I guess they have the ability to make fresh baby food if it is needed.

Good luck!

Kathy

Thanks....that is wonderful about the dining room being able to mush the food for the wee ones. I will definately let my friend know. Thanks again!!!!
