Does DCL ever give the best price?

I've gotten quotes from one site, checked out DU and allseastravel, and right now DCL has given me the best price. Am I missing something? Does one place include things in their quote that DCL doesn't? Any advantage to paying more and going through a travel agent? I'm pricing the 11/9/06 3 day cruise for 3 people.

DCL would never have the best price in my experience. Maybe DU or AllSeas included insurance or transfers or something in your price? Make sure you are comparing apples to apples here b/c it would not make sense for a travel agent to be more than the cruiseline. Is your 3rd person a child? Make sure all 3 sources are charging you for a child and not an adult.

I got rates from 3 TAs. They were all exactly the same price as DCL. We are going on a 4 day cruise in Jan 2006. We are staying in Gaurenteed Cat 12. Our fare didn't qualify for any onboard credits or rebates the TA were offering. The only reason I could see for using a TA is if you would qualify for an incentive they were offering at the time. Your fare has to be more than 1000.00 (not including taxes, fees, and port charges) to qualify for any incentives I've seen the TA offer.

I just checked DCL's web-site vs All Seasons for 11/9/06 & every category is cheaper using All Seasons than DCL.

On our first cruise, DCL came in cheaper than the others we had tried...Of course, we were novices, and perhaps overlooked the better places to try.. :confused3 I would make sure I explore all my options first...

HTH :goodvibes

Hmmmm ... I'm guessing that you qualify for DCL's early booking savings since you're booking more than a year out ... think that's the best discount around.

You havent tried calling Dana - 1-800-385-8233. She'll beat DCL for sure.

DCL is offering a $25 stateroom credit for booking online between now and June 11, 2005. I just saw it on there web site. TA can also get this if they book online with DCl. It can also be combined with other offers.

As I've looked a little more, I realize that so far, on the DCL, I booked Cat 12, and when looking at allseastravel, it was a category 11. The price through DCL backing out ground transportation is $1234.

I will call Dana and also check out costco.

PurtyPAt1 - I'd love to join your thread, but unfortunately I'm planning Nov 2006 not Nov 2005.

Called Costco Price is $1033. Still waiting to hear from Dana but that sounds pretty good to me.

I just put a hold on a 4 day land/3 day cruise package with MouseEarVacations for Mar 5, 2006, in a category 9 and got a $125 on board credit if I pay my deposit before Monday and also saved $316 by not booking with DCL. Has anyone else booked with MouseEarVacations before?

Sorry, I was wrong about saving $316. The $316 savings was the insurance that Disney quoted and Mouseearvacations did not. The prices were the same except I get a $125 on board credit with mouseearvacations.

I've called this company twice in the last week. No one has returned my calls. I've read post from otherr DISers that have had the same problem.

What's the trick to getting them to call you back?

Why bother? A customer shouldn't have to beg someone to take money. Find someone else. I know I've said this before, but seriously, if a person whom you are going to pay won't return your calls, he or she is obviously too busy or doesn't care about all the clients. There are a ton of good low priced TA's who will help you also.

:flower:

There could be many reasons why an agency does not return a clients
call right away..................

1) Maybe they did try to return the call and the line was busy (due to
the person might have been on the phone or computer) or they had
no machine to leave a message on. Or left a message with another
family member that did not pass it on, the list could be endless............

2) Maybe enough information was not given to be able to give a person
a quote they were looking for

3) Maybe the office at the time that your message was left, tried to
respond but for one reason or another (not a good phone number,
or email) they could not.

We agree, you are trying to get the best value for your vacation and there
is nothing wrong with that. Alot of posters on these boards HIDE behind there computers and are not giving FULL stories but have a very bad habit
of posting not correct information all the time...................

So be VERY VERY careful when reading to know that there is always 2 sides to a post.........................Everyone is not going to be happy all the time, but it is without question not right that they send out a perception and I mean a perception which is in their opinion ONLY and not REALITY...........

So read with a open mind at all times. Most of us are here just to help out when we can and there is by NO MEANS "ANY" negative to anyone on these boards or any boards for that matter.

With due respect, we do not post to often, BUT, when someone is making a
direct remark towards us we feel it necessary to and deserve to protect who we are...............................

Wishing everyone Happy Sailings....................

Hey sweetie, there is no trick to getting them to call you back. Dana WILL get back to you! I have voicemail on my home number and I always leave a cell number or work number and I ALWAYS get a call back from Dana. And believe me, it is worth it! Dana has saved me much money through these past couple of years.
