It makes me sleepy. Why is that?

and I laugh at funerals and cry at weddings

Nope. It's revs me up. Sometimes I become a trembling, rambling idiot - at least I blame it on the coffee and people seem to accept that. :teeth:

Sometimes. For instance, driving back from Florida I thought I would get a cappucino to try and stay awake. Big mistake! I was worse off than before I had it. :faint: Pretty weird.

I can drink it right before bed and sleep fine but it gives me severe anxiety... (ONLY if I am heading to bed... I will wake up and be buzzing....) in the day time it does diddly for me :(

Coffee makes me dizzy. I can't handle caffeine very well. However, sugar makes me sleepy. I have to take a nap whenever I drink a soda.

It doesn't do much for me either, unless it's really super-high in caffeine. The pediatric neurologist once told me to try giving it to ds when he was younger. At the time ds was about 6 and was literally attempting to climb the walls of the waiting room. Seems caffeine can have the opposite effect on hyper kids and calm them down.
For what it's worth, ds hates the taste and refuses to drink it so I don't know if it works or not!

I can't get going without my coffee in the am (one cup while getting dressed, another one when I get to work), and one after lunch. Usually it perks me right up. But sometimes on lazy weekends DH and I will have a cup after lunch and we'll be yawning in a few minutes -- we joke that it's the "anti-caffeine" coffee  Then we just have to take a nap. :flower:

Coffee doesn't seem to affect me at all. It doesn't make me sleepy and it doesn't keep me awake. I love it, though.

Is it possible that you're hyperactive? Stimulants tend to have the opposite effect on people who are hyperactive. I have an uncle who was awake for 3 days after he had his wisdom teeth pulled because the sedating medication make him wired. When I was in elementary school, the special education teacher gave the hyper kids a cup of coffee first thing in the morning to calm them down.

if your putting sugar in your coffee it could be that making you sleepy.

Nope. But, it will make my eyeballs float!:) I love it in the cooler months to keep warm at work first thing, but boy it throws in another bathroom break those days.:)

Coffee does. Like normal coffee. Java on the other hand. A tea spoon and I am awake for days. :bitelip:
