We're taking DS (who's turning 4 this year) to Disney for his birthday. It will also be his first trip to Disney. I'm sure Disney will become an every year event after this!:). I'm starting to think about Christmas gifts for this year and I'm considering these. I was wondering if anyone had purchased these for their DC and what the quality was like. Thanks so much for your help! April

My neice had the castle when she was younger and it held up really well. Lots of small parts so make sure she doesn't put anything in her mouth.
My friend bought the monorail to put under our Christmas tree. It looks great but is not sturdy. The track doesn't lock together so any bump will make it come apart. My grandson who was 2 the last time we set it up loved looking at it but he knocked the train off the track quite a few times because he just didn't have the hand co-ordination needed to play correctly with it. I would suggest it as a look at toy but not a play with toy. It also EATS batteries.
You can find both toys set up at the toy store at DTD. Check them out there before you buy.

I have had the Monorail and Contemporary for the Monorail for about 5-8 years now. It is great quality, but it is sometimes annoying to assemble (the pieces are difficult to put together). I put it under the Christmas tree every year. Not sure about this one, but mine says "Welcome to the Magic Kingdom. No Smoking Please. Please Stand Clear of the Doors."

We got our little guy the Disney Monorail Playset off eBay for $15.72 + shipping to Canada. Yes, it had been used - but the seller clearly noted in his auction the novelty wore off for his boys about 2 weeks after purchase and it was also a battery eater. He was right on both counts! Novelty has worn off, but we keep it setup in the basement underneath our pool table - this way, should the need arise to play with it, it's good to go.
