Does anyone wait until exactly 45 day mark to pay in full?

We just booked Wednesday for May 9-14 and had to pay in full at the time of booking. We were under the 45 day mark. I remember when we could just pay in full at check-in. What happened with that?

When it's room only you can pay upon checkin (with one night deposit when you book so it can be more or less than the $200 deposit that you have to pay for booking a package.)

We booked by in January for our September trip. I calculated how much a weekly payment would be up to the 45day mark. So every Friday I hop onto DisneyWorld.com and make a payment. This makes the cost of the vacation easier to swallow than making a huge payment up front or at the 45 day mark.

Wait, how do you do that? Where on the website is that option? :lmao:

Go to DisneyWorld.com and then go to Sign In or Create Your Account. (should be just above PRICE YOUR DREAM VACATION). Once you have signed in put your cursor of My Disney Vacation. A menu should drop down, click on Resort Reservations. Scroll down to Retrieve Your Reservation. Enter all the information asked and click Search. Your reservation should come up. Scroll down and you should see Make A Payment.

Once you make a payment you should receive an email. This area will keep a running tally of all payments made and your 45-day date.

I wait as long as possible, because, (and this absolutely kills me to admit), if the financial screws were to be turned any tighter, disney would have to be the first to not get paid. We'd cancel or modify the trip.

Still waiting on the 40% off pin!!! I have 35% now and will wait until the 45 day mark exactly to pay the rest b/c why pay in full now and pin comes tomorrow?? that would be my luck...

We just booked today. We have a "Vacation Savings Account" in a different bank than our regular bank. We paid our deposits today, and the rest will sit and accumulate in that savings account as we put money aside for the trip. Our plan is at about 50 days out, we will call in, add the insurance and make final payment. We did not add the insurance earlier because it's not refundable.

I usually do it a couple days before just in case. One time I did it right on the date (online) and the system crashed out on me. It was a little stressful because I didn't know if the payment had gone through and when I called in to check they couldn't tell me either because their system was down. Now I like having a little buffer.

In 2009 I did but this year I paid it off last month instead of waiting.

That's because DH was talking about wanting to buy an HD TV and I know if the money was just sitting in the account to pay for the trip, he'd have taken that and come home with the TV one night after work. :scared:

Now that the money isn't sitting in the account, he's stopped talking about the TV. Thank goodness.

I'll wait till my passaport with my USA visa arrives home to pay the full balance, even if I'm due 07/22. I got the money but only when I saw all the docs ready to go I'll pay!:woohoo: and then I did not need to worry about the trip, evetrything is gonna to be pre-paid in full!

That is how we feel. My husband will not let us take the trip unless we have the $$ in the bank before we book. However, we use the 6 months interest free to keep money in bank for as long as possible. We pay at 45 day mark so that that Disney Visa starts counting the 6 months as late as possible. We love the reward points. Pays for some extra goodies. We are very frugal. Works for us.

This is what we have decided to do. We have he money to pay it right now, in fact since we booked, but I want it to earn as much interest as we can! Granted, right now it's not that much --but every little bit helps!
