and do they work? Are they really a saver of wrinkles and space?

Going in a few weeks and wanted to know if it was worth purchasing the travel compressed air bags!

Thanks, L

i tried it once, and although it saved a lot of space and kept things wrinkle free, it adds alot of weight to your luggage. i mean, i kept packing and packing till my suitcase was full of compressed clothes and had one heck of a time trying to lift it. also, you need to make sure you'll have access to a vaccume once you want to leave your destination.

I used the extra large ziplock bags, I think they are 2.5 gallon. They were 14 in a pack for $2.50. They were great. I just packed everyone a bag a day with everything in it including undies and pjs. They really saved space (I repacked dirty clothes in the bags) and were a time saver, I just handed everyone a bag everyday! I am packing ds off for a mission trip this afternoon and I put everyday in ziplocks for him too. The part that really surprised me was how much space they saved and how the clothes really were not wrinkled.

they went on there cruise but first they had to fly and the people at the airport like them cause they made there job easier.. you can see throught it and it was flat. my mom like it more room for momentos of the trip....

Don't forget that with the space bags, you can pack a lot more into a suitcase and very easily run over the weight limits on luggage that the airlines have now put into place.

I've heard nasty stories of people have to pay extra to travel with their heavy bags. Be sure to check with your airline...

We used them this past Christmas for our ski clothes on our Vail trip. They really were a lifesaver! There was no way those down jackets were going in the suitcases much less the pants etc. without being compacted. We also used them for DH's shirts with very little wrinkles.

We will definately be using them again!!

I think they work great...although you do have to watch the wait limits. I also keep a small one in my carry on in the winter so I can get a jacket in there and not have to lug it.

DH and I used ziplock bags when we went to Mexico in January and it made packing a lot easier. On the way home they hand inspected all the luggage and it made their job much easier. When I repacked for the trip home I sorted colors and whites so laundry didn't take as long!

Great advice! I think I am going to try the ziplock bags, first. We are in a one-bedroom at OKW this trip, but I don't want to have to look for an attachment when packing.

I will inspect once I get there, to use on future trips.

Thanks everone....... your the best!:bounce:

They do have space bags now for travel that do not need a vaccum cleaner. I have used both space bags and ziploc bags. I went to Greece this year using space bags and even got my pillow in my suitcase!!!! I think for the most part and money wise, I prefer the ziploc bags unless you have realy bulky items like a pillow or skiing jackets. The space bags can get real bulky and take up a lot of space. The ziploc bags are great for packing daily outfits especially for children.
