Does anyone use their full luggage allowance?

When we flew back from Las Vegas in 2006 we were under our combined limit of 128kg by about 14kg!! That was two of us and some serious shopping plus being away for 3 weeks away on a road trip so had to take plenty of clothing due to varying temps and no where to wash clothes easily.

This is the reason we do not fly with Travel companies, think it is 20kgs, compared to 2x23kgs each with others

This is a major worry of mine at present! :confused3

We're flying with First Choice (two of us), so I'm thinking it'll be around 23kg each. We're not planning on taking much out, but I know I'll be damn sure close (if not over :rotfl: ) on my way back! This does worry me somewhat. I did ask to pay for extra baggage allowance, but was declined, saying that the airline does not offer it and we would be charged accordingly on the way home :scared1:

Suppose I'll have to curb the mechandise! :sad2:

Definately take the bare minimum out with you. Last time I bought a suitcase from a little vendor in the florida mall. It was ridicuously cheap. (approx. £15)

OK, I seem to get the message!! Everyone buys loads over there to bring back ..

Has anyone been stopped and had to pay duty?? Or is everyone here soooooo honest and declares it all anyhow.... What is the limit nowadays anyway? Is it still round £140??? I know it can't be pooled, but with the kids having the same limits then I guess we have a fair bit of leeway..

We leave for airport in 1 hour, 3 of us have a total of 55kg for 2 weeks. No idea how anyone gets to limits with Virgin:lmao: We have cruise clothes, pirate outfits, loads of stuff.

every return trip lol we use our full aloowance and book more!!

what can I say I am a shopaholic

We are always up to 8 full cases of the 4 of us coming home. Spent an hour at the airport last year re-arranging and weighing the cases to get it all in AND still failed (we had some very heavy carry-ons, which I'm glad they didn't weigh.:lmao: I am sure it won't be long before w can open a fully stocked Disney store in Stafford.:rotfl2:
DMIL however was flying with Flyglobespan, so didn't have as much allowance as us on Virgin, so did end up paying $99 in excess bagage.

We are only allowed 15 kg each as Thomas Cook matched their internet price for us, we can increase to 20kg at a cost of £75 but figured it maybe cheaper to pay excess. We are allowed 5kg each in hand luggage. Anyone know what excess baggage charges are per kg?

I guess everyone must be honest :rolleyes1 ................It amazing how many people from the UK must purchase brand new Reeboks before travelling, wear them all holiday, and they still look brand new on the flight home :lmao: :lmao:
