Does anyone use the GizmoPal?

A friend just told us about the GizmoPal GPS tracker for kids that''s sold at Verizon. I'm wondering if anyone has used it and what the GPS accuracy is. If we used this for my son and he got away from us, would it help us track him down in the park, or would it just pinpoint him to MK in general (not particularly helpful)? Thanks!

never heard of it but I have been at MK ( and other parks but mainly MK) when a child gets lost and the CM in all times have been very good at finding parents one child was crying a lot and with in 3 minutes was laughing and playing with a CM while some others when to look for the parents when the parent showed up maybe 10 minutes latter the child did not want to stop playing.

I would teach your child to find a CM and let the CM know the child can not find you. I have seen a few kids with cards around there neck that have there parents information on it. you can also take a picture of your child each morning so if you can not find then you can show a CM the picture so they will have a better idea of what your child looks like. saying my child is white 4foot wearing a read micky shirt well that will be what a lot of kids where.

I've never heard of it, but if it uses GPS, it would be an exact location, not just generalized inside the park. Sounds like a great thing to have just for peace of mind.

at the small park I work at I am not sure how much it would help as security tries to make sure they have right parents not someone trying to be parents, I know one mother was very upset when they did not take her right away to her child when she could not remember what he was wearing

I know the CM's at Disney are very helpful, but I'm interested in the GPS locator as a back up. I don't know that my son's mind understands hypothetical situations. So as much as I can drill into him what he should do, who he should find, if he becomes separated from us, I'm still not sure he would remember to do those things. I'm not even convinced he would realize he is "lost" as much as he would just assume we are nearby somewhere and continue going about his business, especially if he sees something super fun or interesting. The GizmoPal also has a call function with a limited contact list.

We have 2 of the gizmos from Verizon that we use for our kids 7 and 11. The GPS like all GPS will get you to a 20 ft radius. The only problem with it is that it can take a couple min to get a GPS location it is not a constant live stream. But it is also a phone. So you can call your child if they get lost and tell them to stay put while you do the GPS location. I love the phone on it because it is restricted to a hand full of numbers that can call them or they can call.

Thank you! I was hoping someone had experience with this!
