Does anyone use points for places other than WDW

I will have some points left over this year and was thinking of trying to use them for a non-disney reosrt that is closer to home. Has anyone done this. What are the other places like?

I haven't used my points anywhere else other that WDW properties, but I live less than an hour away from the Pigeon Forge/ Gatlinburg TN area. The resorts that they offer for trade with DVC are nice properties but unless you just really want to use your points to get rid of them I would not use my points there. I think they would be a better cash purchase and use your points somewhere else that would be a better cash/point ratio.

Keep in mind that I lost count of the number of weekend getaways we have had in this area long ago. I could feel this way because I no longer see that area as anything special, just a weekend away from home and convenient to the National Park for hiking. It is beautiful in the park, but Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are VERY much tourist areas.

By all means we would love for you to come see the beautiful landscape Tennessee offers, but may not be the best value for trading unless you just NEED to get rid of points.

On the other had I highly suggest, trading for the Asheville, NC property. Amazing area!
