Hi all,
Just wanted to ask if or what software anyone uses to create a detailed itinerary for their trip.
I just wanted to be able to use something print out all of our information.
I'm taking the autotrain w/dd my dh and ds are flying down the next day, then my ds is flying back in a week and dh in 2 weeks.
Then there is all the planning for what were doing while were down there and I'm having a hard time with all my notes in keeping everything straight. I joined tourguidemike today and that will be great with the planning but not for looking at one printout and having all the conf numbers and dates in one place.
Should I just create a spreadsheet to put everything into one place or is there some kind of software planner I can purchase online or in the stores?
Thanks for any help.
Robin

I dont know of any kind of software to help with an iteneary, I am going in Nov. with family.I purchased the unoffical guide to Disney World it gives you sample itenary to help you create your own to your needs. Also the Passporter is a great book for info. Good Luck and have fun!!!!! :cheer2:

I have both, but I was just looking for something I guess that was like a spreadsheet with all the information on flights, train times and numbers and confirmation numbers to put into one little packgage to keep in my passporter and to also give a copy to my dh so he has it on him when he travels when were not together. He knows absolutely nothing about what were doing or the travel plans. He just says do what you want and hands over the money as I need it. The planning is being left entirely up to me and I think I'm getting a little overwhelmed with all my notes and stuff.

I hope it isn't taboo to mention another site here b/c I love the DISboards! But I occasionally check out Intercot as well and it seems to me, if I remember correctly, they had some sort of program to plan itineraries on there. Don't know if my memory is acurate, if it is still available or even if it would be useful to your situation, but it might be worth a look...

Do you use Outlook at all? There is an option to print your calendar from there, if you wanted to use that... Or, if you have other MS products, you can to to their template center which has templates for their programs.

I found a Business Trip Planner for MS Word that you could modify to work for your vacation...

I just used an Excel worksheet, rows across for each day, and columns labeled with time increments. You can make the rows fairly high so you can write in your conf #'s and any other info. I put everything, even planned travel time and what park we will go to that day.
I'm an accountant and work with spreadsheets all day :surfweb: , and it put the entire trip in one place for me to work on. You can just add and subtract and adjust as necessary and print it out just before you leave.
It actually worked so well, that I haven't made any changes :thumbsup2 since I called for my ADR's (3 mths ago), which I was afraid I might be doing!

try tourguidemike...I just signed up for it and it is coming in handy trying to plan my first trip to WDW. It costs $20, but is worth it.

Intercot does have a Disney Vacation Planner you can download to your desktop. I love it. Plenty of room to put all your info including Adr conf #'s. Haven't tried to print it yet, still having too much fun filling it in!!! But it says you can. Hope this helps.

One of the problems with most itineraries is their size. I like mine very compact. I use Microsoft Word. I create a Table and enter all the pertinent info for each day into a cell. I abbreviate most things and include info like which park we'll visit that day, flight times and numbers, reservation numbers, priority seating numbers, which park has extra magic hours for that day, dining times, which nightly show we'll see (and its time), and a few things we don't want to miss that day.

Now, here comes the anal part... I cut the table in two, place them back to back and laminate them. I can keep my entire weeks plans on an itinerary the size of a credit card! I usually make one for each member of our party. I know it sounds like overkill, but making the itineraries is one of my favorite parts of the whole trip.

I checked out the intercot one so I think I'm going to use a 3 way combination of the Intercot, my journal program called the journal and then put everything in to the spreadsheet and laminate it so I can take it with me. I thought that was such a great idea.
