Does ANYONE remember the MOWERS?

I was in WDW EPCOT years ago and on the lawn by where the information booth is there was an AUTOMATIC LAWN MOWER coasting around the lawn and seeminly guiding itself as it slowly clipped the grass. WHAT HAPPENED to it, was this my imagination? Did it really exist? I can only discribe it as a LAWN ROOMBA. Wife was with me and said she never seen it...

No it was not your imagination - we saw it too. I think we actually may have a picture of it somewhere!

I remember them too I got the biggest kick out of them. I also remember when you could make priority seating arrangements with video phones by Spaceship Earth. It was so cool. I wish they would bring this stuff back.

I remember all of that from our first visit. We have a photo of DS age 8, with the mower, who was lifted over the fence by the gardener. We chatted to him for ages.

I remember them I took several photos of them. My parent own a lawn and landscaping business and I remember commenting on them. It would make my job a lot easier!!!LOL!!!

It doesn't look like Toro still makes them. But Husqvarna and Electrolux (and some other smaller firms) still make auto mowers.

I remember the video phones too. I miss them! It was so easy. Once when I wasn't sure whether I wanted a particular restaurant or not, the operator popped the menu up on the screen and she became a picture-in-a-picture. Ah, the good ol' days.

Not your imagination at all. I heard that apparently the African Killer Ducks had escaped from the Jungle Cruise ride and were mistaking the robotic mowers for giant bread crumbs. There were a few unfortunate mishaps when Goofy himself attempted to chase the critters out of the way of the machines but tripped himself up and had accidently had his ears trimmed. Not to worry though, the ducks were rounded up and placed back in the ride where you can still find them terrorizing the magic Kingdom guests to this day. Goofy's OK too... ear accidents happen all the time with him, he's quite used to it.
