Does anyone remember that link about the compact disk class action lawsuit??

I remember finding the link on this website quite awhile ago....something along the lines of "if you purchased music on cds with a certain date, you could be entitled to a settlement". I think it might of been on the boards last summer. Well, I just received a check in the mail for 'settlement'....$13.86!! Honestly, I only expected a dollar or two, if that. I almost tossed it out....it looks a lot like junk mail (a folded, taped shut post card looking thing). It's from CD MAP Antitrust Litigation. If you see something like that...don't toss it!!

I also read that states that settled in the lawsuit are getting a large amount of money, used to buy new cd's for public libraries.
Now I'm just waiting for my check to come in; I haven't bought a cd in a long time.

I wish I could find the link to post the old thread here...just in case anyone else from the boards (I remember it was somewhat of a hot topic at that time!!) would know to expect a check and to be careful not to mix it up with the junk mail!!

That good news. I recently checked the website about the CD settlement because I hadn't received a check that I was expecting (they were supposed to be mailed before the end of last year). The website stated that there was one unsettled dispute that was holding up the issuance of the checks. It looks like they resolved that issue and have begun mailing the checks.
