Any recommendations on an electric smoker? I am buying one for DH for Christmas and have no idea what brand is good. He would like to use it primarily for beef jerky. Any suggestions?

Thanks Papa Deuce I was looking at the Cookshack Smokette at Cabela's...it's only $400 which is pretty reasonable

Right. Mine is the 008. Plus cookshack has an AMAZING forum on the net, and near legendary customer support.

$400..... that is what it costs now. 2 years ago it was $279, what I paid. If you join the website, they usually send you discount promo codes at the holidays for a sale price.

Cost of steel, fuel, and labor has really brought the price up, but I can tell you that at $400 it is still worth it. It is a tank / workhorse, for sure. And it only used 4 ounces of wood per smoke, and about 12 cents of electricity.
