Does anyone out there want to be my Dis Friend? 3 PTRs and 1 1/2 TRs in Progress!

Okay, I think I am caught up and here are a few comments I jotted down. First, nice to meet you Whitney. Second, how cool that your brother works with Courtney Cox and met Jennifer Aniston (I really like both of these lovely ladies). Out of your ADR's, we've only been to one and that is Yak & Yeti -- which we absolutely love!

I love the Minnie-Christmas shirt as well as your AK shirt. Your plans for AK had me huffing and puffing as I imagined you dashing to get tickets for EE.

I can't put mine in a Top 10 fashion where I list #1, 2, etc., as they change from year to year. But here are my OVERALL top 10 in no specific order:

1. Tower of Terror
2. Pirate of the Caribbean
3. Winnie-the-Pooh
4. Soarin'
5. Test Track
6. Big Thunger Mountain
7. Haunted Mansion
8. Splash Mountain
9. Toy Story Mania
10. Mickey's Philharmagic

Lease favorite:

1. Carousel of Progress
2. Mission: Space
3. Stitch
4. Monsters Laugh (or whatever it is called)
5. Sounds Dangerous
6. Indiana Jones
7. Primevil Whirl

Hi! I still have to go back and catch up on your plans :goodvibes my computer has been on the fritz

Ok...just went back and realized that we will both be having breakfast at the Grand Floridian around the same time on 12/2...different restaurants, but maybe we'll see each other:wave2:

Love the t shirts you are making...I wish I was that creative! Your plans look great so far...plus you know you'll be back so that makes it so much easier to have a nice relaxing trip. I'm trying to talk DH into another trip for just to two of us in january, but he's not going for it. We'll be ther in October and then again in Nov/Dec...I'm gonna keep working on him though :goodvibes

Looking forward to more :surfweb:

Welp, we're down another week so it's time for another countdown!

Today, (as per your suggestion) I'll be doing my 8 least favorite attractions:

#1 being my absolute least fav

8. The Hall of Presidents (B-O-R-I-N-G, not big on the History, sorry)
7. The Magic Carpets of Aladdin/Triceratop Spin (I'll stick with my Dumbo/Teacups)
6.Ellen's Energy Adventure (It's just so loooong, takes too much valuable park time)
5. Honey I Shrunk the Audience (hate those mice on my legs, anxious to try Captain EO)
4. Star Tours (but, I'll try it again after the refurb is finished)
3. Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor (maybe me got a bad group, I may try it again)
2. Stitch's Great Escape (Love Stitch, hate the ride.. hated it in it's previous form too)
1. It's A Small World (I get that it's a classic and I really want to like it, but I just can't)

If you would have asked me prior to my April trip I would have listed Tower of Terror. I HATED this ride when I went when I was 12 and refused to ride it for 11 years after. In April, my brother said he would buy me any souvenir I wanted if I rode it just once. So I did it. And... LOVED it! Now it's one of my favorites! I still get a little jittery and am usually shaking when I get off but in June my mom and I rode it three times in a row :rolleyes1:.

So, what are you least favorite attractions? Any of you have a "tower of terror" attraction like I did?

LOL i Never thought of doing a least favorite attraction list! :rotfl:

I LOVE Hall of Presidents! But I love American History, so it's fun for me! I also love the American Adventure in Epcot! I LOVE Star Tours too, although, I'm glad it's getting a refurb, finally!

My least favorite things...hmmm...not a big Country Bears fan, or the Tomorrowland Speedway. I didn't really like Dinosaur or Kali River Rapids in AK (although I've only done Dinosaur once, and I might give it a try again on my trip in November)...I can't think of anything I don't like in Epcot or DHS, although I haven't seen the Stunt show in DHS, I doubt I would like that!

I love the snowman shirt.

Thanks! It's my favorite out of the ones I made!

Everytime I see the words Via Napoli, my outh waters. LOL!~ I need to give it a try.
Looks like a fun day.

I'm really excited to try Via Napoli. Surprisingly, I'm not a huge pizza fan but it looks soo good in the pictures I may have to try it!

I'm here and subscribed. I'll be back a bit later to get caught up. :)

Welcome! I'm so glad you joined!

Oh you're never too old to get your picture taken with Santa! I'm doing it too :santa: The more I hear about Via Napoli the more I want to try it. Hurray for 'next time'.

Can't wait to see your passports. I'm going to snag the ones at the pavilions and do it for the first time this trip. :cool1: Your Let it snow shirt is too cute!

You know a villans ride would be a great idea for the sounds dangerous spot.

We bought the passports they sell there last time and they were cute and fun but I like to scrapbook and the way their made, scrapbooking them is impossible. I decided to make my own this time so I could tear them apart and put in my book when I got home.

It's nice to meet you too. I tend to change my favorites around a lot too and I always like trying things again that I haven't been on in awhile to see if I've changed my mind about it. Oh, and we usually are out of breathe by the time we get EE but it's worth it! Glad you joined my PTR, I've been enjoying reading your TR.

Looks like the only overlap we have is MK on the 11/30. But, you never know, maybe I'll see you there! I always hate heading home.. I think the goodbye video on the ME bus is the saddest video...

Ok...just went back and realized that we will both be having breakfast at the Grand Floridian around the same time on 12/2...different restaurants, but maybe we'll see each other:wave2:

Which restaurant are you eating at?? We ate at 1900 Park Fare for breakfast last time and it was a lot of fun and great meeting 5 characters at once! Try throwing some Fuzzy Disney Math at your DH to see if maybe it helps your cause. I used all the special promotions and getting the most out of my Annual Pass to convince my dad to let us go on so many trips!

checking in and making sure I'm caught up. Hope things are well there!

Yea, it's been awhile since I updated but I'm going to work on 2-3 updates between today and tomorrow so that'll give everyone something to read!

LOL i Never thought of doing a least favorite attraction list! :rotfl:

One of my readers suggested the least favorite list and I thought it was interesting! It was hard to come up the some though... I haven't seen Country Bears in FOREVER, I may have to see it in Dec. just beacause. I'm not a big fan of Dinosaur either. I always hold my ears because I hate how loud it is, couldn't imagine being a little kid on that ride.

So, those of you that have been reading along know that my brother lives in California. He lives about 45 minutes from Disneyland (given no traffic) and goes quite often. Well, a couple weeks ago he went to Mickey's Halloween party and sent me some goodies to hold me over until I get to go to Disney...

Here's a cute little bag:

Some Mickey-Shaped Frosted Pretzels (the bags open and half empty because I ate a couple while I was taking pics...):

And a cute Halloween tee:

Now, I would like to introduce another member to our cast of characters:

6774_568062885309_4806550_33434046_89535_n.jpg

This is Chris. This picture was taken in March 2009 during our Spring Break trip. Chris and my brother went to college together and became good friends. They attended a VERY reputable school where my brother was studying Production Technology and Management and Chris was studying some type of design engineering. Chris is probably the smartest person I've ever met. During his sophomore year, he was offered a job working where else? Disney. He obviously accepted and LOVED it! He had been BORED at college and decided not to return after being offered a job with a company in Orlando. This company free lances it's employees out to different companies. He worked on several Hard Rock Cafes helping to set up their lighting and sound but I think there's some work you may be more interested in. Been to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter? He worked on the sound that you hear as you travel through the park. Seen the new screen outside of the American Idol Experience? Yep, did that too. What about Mr. Potatoe Head in the line for Toy Story Mania? He programed the arms. Cool right? Well, recently, he was offered a new job. He moved to California in early September to accept a job at Walt Disney Imagineering headquarters! Yep, he is now a Disney Imagineer! Now I'm REALLY jealous! But, seeing as we've gotten to know Chris really well over the years as he toured Disney with us every time we came to visit, he was sure not to forget me when he got his new job. So, in the goodie box I also got...

The two Imagineering Field Guides I was missing:

An Imagineering shirt for my mom:

And an Imagineering shirt for me:

I'll be back later with an update on my Day 7 plans but I couldn't wait to share my goodie box with you all!

TTFN and See Ya Real Soon! :flower3:

What a great goodie bag. Love the Halloween t-shirt (almost bought it when we were there but refrained).

Wow, what incredible stuff! You are certainly well-connected, huh? That must have been so much fun to open up and go through!

Awesome goodies! Can I have a taste of the chocolate cover pretzel too? LOL! I am obseessed with those. I didn't know they had Mickey Head ones though. I'll be on the hunt for some next trip.

Sorry I have been missing. Had a mini-vaca to North Carolina to visit my baby brother and his fiance'. It was great, and I got a taste for driving to disney, we drove 12+hrs to see them. Anyway, love all the goodies you got, they are awesome. I love the Imagineering t-shirt you got. That's awesome, I can't even imagine that kind of an opportunity. I am sure I will be thinking of that when I am there and I see Mr. Potatoe Head.

Sounds like you have a great plan for day 6 as well. Oh and i love your snowman t-shirt. It's so cute. I have been brainstorming ideas for shirts for me and the fam. I have to now convince my hubby to wear these when we go. Wish me luck on that one.

What a fabulous goodie box to receive! The pretzels look delish and that shirt is great!

Nice to meet you Chris, what an incredible job you have. ::MickeyMo I really like the WDI shirt for your Mom. :thumbsup2

Halloween is my favorite holiday so my brother said he just had to get me a Disney Halloween shirt! I love it!

Haha it's all thanks to my brother! Because of their college and industry that they went into, they all have cool jobs. His other friend Lexi originated the role of Dory in Finding Nemo: The Musical at AK!

They are very tasty! I didn't realize they were shaped like Mickey's Head at first until I looked at them more closely. I think I might look for Christmas-y ones in Dec!

I was just reading your PTR last night about your trip to NC, I can't wait to see the pictures of the mountains! I was soo excited about my Imagineering shirt, that would just be such a cool job! I really hope your DH agrees to the matching shirts! I think they're so much fun so good luck!

I love that bag, and what great goodies you got.

Thanks! I wish I still went trick-or-treating because I would so carry that bag. I think I might take it to WDW with me next Oct. for the MNSSHP!

What a fabulous goodie box to receive! The pretzels look delish and that shirt is great!

Nice to meet you Chris, what an incredible job you have. ::MickeyMo I really like the WDI shirt for your Mom. :thumbsup2

Thanks! I like my mom's shirt a lil better than mine because it's easier to tell it's an imagineering shirt but I still really like mine. I'm going to post another picture of Chris's work as soon as I find it.

Oh, I wanted to add that Chris also worked on the "new" scene in the Haunted Mansion where the footprints climb the stairs and here's a picture after he finished updated the projection that makes Buzz's face appear on the Buzz in the line for Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. The goal was to make in "show up" better. Anyway, here's the finished product:

Ok, it's Tuesday. Which means COUNTDOWN! Today, we're at exactly 7 weeks till WDW! So, we'll be counting down our...

Top 7 Favorite Restaurants:
Counter Service & Table Service
7. Crystal Palace (breakfast)
6. Yak 'n' Yeti (TS, we've never done the CS)
5. Flame Tree BBQ
4. California Grill
3. Yachtman's Steakhouse
2. 'Ohana Lilo & Stitch Best Friends Breakfast
1. KONA CAFE!

I wanted to add that I have never tried Le Cellier and am looking forward to going for the first time in March. I've already secured my reservation but we'll get to that later! Also, I probably could have picked SEVERAL more restaurants but I would say these are my ABSOLUTE Top 7.

So, what are yours? I'm always looking for new places to try and would love to hear your favorites and suggestions!

Top 7 restaurants (take into acount we've not done a signature restaurant since 2003 when we went to Brown Derby which we did NOT care for at all). Our top 7 which we return to year after year (or every other year) are:

1. LeCellier
2. Fulton's (not on dining plan)
3. Crystal Palace (breakfast only)
4. Plaza (this is always our last meal of the trip
5. Yak & Yeti
6. Boma (breakfast only)
7. Flame Tree Barbecue

Finally, all caught up.

I don't feel like I qualify for the 7 favorite restaurants survey , since I've never eaten at any Disney World restaurants (gasp), but I'll list the ones I'm looking forward to trying someday.

1. Whispering Canyon Cafe - for the family style skillet. We lived in Austin for a few years & they had some fabulous BBQ restaurants that served all you could eat family style. I don't expect Whispering Canyon to be Texas quality BBQ, but I'm looking forward to the memories it will bring up of our wonderful years in Austin.
2. Wishes Dessert Party - desserts and fireworks, enough said
3. Turkey Leg cart - who doesn't love a hormone induced supersized turkey leg?
4. Kona Cafe or Captain Cooks - I'm dying to try Tonga Toast.
5. Golden/Diamond Horseshoe - I have fond memories of the Golden Horseshoe (Disneyland) from childhood & the entertainment. I know the Diamond Horseshoe doesn't have the same show, but I think walking through will bring back fond memories.
6. Boatwrights - any restaurant with Crawfish on the menu reminds me of our honeymoon in New Orleans.:lovestruc
7. Biergarten - I  bratwurst

Okay *whew* I am all caught up. I know there is a seemly simple way to multi quote posts, but I am not that talented and I am not in the mood to try it tonight  so I will be blowing up your thread with comments in the next few minutes.

First, I'll do my 10 fav/least fav rides

TOP 10 FAV: (I'm going to do them in no particular order, or I'd be fretting over it all night)

10. Pirates
9. Splash Mountain
8. Haunted Mansion
7. Soarin'
6. Country Bears
5. TTA
4. Carousel of Progress
3. Mickey's Philharmagic
2. Mission: Space
1. Tiki Room Under New Management

Top 10 LEAST FAV:

10. Stitch's Great Escape
9. Hall of Presidents

...those are really the only two that bug me. LOL!! Keep in mind though, I have not ridden on everything they have.

I also hardly remember eating at WDW. I know I must have eaten SOMEwhere. So I will make the list of top 10 I WANT to eat at....

10. Hoop Dee Doo
9. 1900 Park Fare
8. Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater
7. Liberty Tree Tavern
6. Chef Mickey's
5. Le Cellier (to see what all the fuss is about)
4. Les Chefs de France (only to see Remy)
3. Beaches & Cream (we wont be able to finish it, but DD and I WILL try The Kitchen Sink on our trip) :lmao:
2. Cinderella's Royal Table
1. T-Rex

And to top it off, a Studio-Standard View room opened up at Bay Lake Tower!

JEALOUS!!!!!!

Dec. 7: Heading Home :sad2:

Aaarrrg. You're leaving the day we arrive! D'oh!

In the next update, I'll talk about our goals for each day and how we ended up with two MVMCPs.

Jealous again (and considering this) :rotfl:

I forgot to ask, is anyone getting Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue today? When they first came out with the movies I was worried about Tinker Bell talking and not being with Peter yet but I think they're cute. I think I might stop by The Disney Store on my way home and use my special Fairy Rescue coupon to get my copy!

We got it, but I have only seen parts of it. DD has seen it 497 times though. :lmao:

Cute!!!

(Ha! I figured it out after all!!)
