Does anyone out there want to be my Dis Friend? 3 PTRs and 1 1/2 TRs in Progress!

I forgot to ask, is anyone getting Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue today? When they first came out with the movies I was worried about Tinker Bell talking and not being with Peter yet but I think they're cute. I think I might stop by The Disney Store on my way home and use my special Fairy Rescue coupon to get my copy!

Hi! I am subbing and will try and get you some more followers!!! You are too cute not to have them!!!

Excited for all the travel! :goodvibes

:welcome: to my PTR! So glad you joined! I'm voting for the first week too but it all depends on where I get accepted to grad school. Have you run the Disney Half? Are you doing it this year? I'm so excited about it!:yay:

I haven't run any of the Disney races yet! But my Dh and I just bought a DVC membership so I told him I planned to hit every race in the next 2 years or so. I have friends who have run them and loved them!!!! And the medals are some of the best around, of course!! Good luck!!

No real advice on your ADRs, never been to any of the new places you listed. But I have heard great stuff about them all. Oh wait, i take that back! i did eat at Park Fare quite a few years ago. Can't really remember too much about the food (I think it was pretty standard buffet food) but I do remember tons of time with the characters!!!

Looks like great plans...excpet the t-rex dinner. I've never seen fantasmic (don't throw stones at me please. LOL), so I'm not sure how long it lasts, but I am assuming at least a 1/2 hour? That only gives you an hour to get to DTD. And there are no buses from any parks to DTD, so you have to make a switch at a resort. now it may be doable, but with crowds leaving after Fantsmic and the bus service to DTD is always dreadful, you might not have enough time....or be cutting it really close, since I think T-rex isn't near the bus stops.
But I could be totally wrong about all of that. :rotfl:

Hi! Just got caught up on your PTR! That pic of you and Tink is so cute! :) I can't believe you have 5 trips planned over the next year or so! Sounds like fun! Your plans and ADR's look great!

Meant to say this in the last post!!!

CONGRATS on the UPGRADE!!! soooo awsome! i want to stay there one day too!! dancin with yah!!:dancer:

Aw, thanks for joining! Glad to have to along!

Yea, I was a little unsure about this one too. I LOVE Fantasmic! and this is the only night we can see it. I knew an hour was cutting it close and I've been trying to push the reservation back but it's completely booked so for now I'm playing this one by ear.

Thanks! I can't believe it either. But, I'm kind of sad because 4 of them fall within a 4 month period and then all that's left is my shortest trip... :sad2:

Meant to say this in the last post!!!

Thanks! I'm SOOO excited. We took a tour of the resort last April and I've been trying to find a way to stay here since! Even if I had to use some weird Disney logic to justify it :rotfl2:

I've been debating on how to proceed on writing my PTR. And I've decided the most logical seems to give you all the info about one trip before moving on to the next so it doesn't get all mixed up together. In my last post I gave you the general day and ADR plans so I'm going to see what you think of my Day 1 intinerary today. I'm going to try doing this slow because I've still got like 2 1/2 and I don't want to run out of things to talk about.

Nov. 29 - Day before departure
I will drive home to my parents' house after work. The Pittsburgh airport is the closest one to their house and it's significantly cheaper to fly out of Pitt than out of Cleveland. We used frequent flyer points to book our flights home but the way down we only paid $59 a piece :cool1: Gotta love Southwest!

Day 1 Nov. 30 Arrival Day
Depart Pittsburgh 6:15am - Arrive Orlando at 8:45am

Head to Coronado Springs to check-in
Upgrade tickets to Annual Pass after check-in to ensure we get our Free Dining still

Move into room if available, otherwise head to MK

Grab some lunch at MK then head for the attractions. I don't really make a plan of attractions on our first MK day. We usually just hit up our favorites or ones we haven't done in a while and know we won't do on our full MK day.

Around 2:30 head back to CSR to move into our room if we didn't before, unpack, take a power nap, and change.

Now, we were originally planning on doing the Pirate & Pals Fireworks cruise this night. Peter Pan is my all time favorite Disney movie and I thought this may be something fun to try and a new way of viewing the fireworks. Also, like I said, I have to try EVERYTHING Disney has to offer.

However, this plan has been cancelled. As I mentioned before, we've never gotten to see Disney at Christmas before and I really don't know when we'll get to go at this time again because it's really hard to fit into our schedules. So, I want to take full advantage of the Christmas specific activities. In addition, I really like doing the character meet & greets. My mom and I are working on A Big Book of Character. Which is just a basic scrapbook devoted solely to the characters. It isn't too fancy like my regular scrapbooking pages but it has a couple cute embellishments and on one side there's a pic of us with the character and on the other side we put the characters autograph. It's just something fun to do at the parks and it's fun looking back through and remembering which interactions were cute, funny, and well not so much. But, I digress. My whole point of that was, I want to make sure we have enough time to do EVERYTHING the Christmas party has to offer, including character meet & greets.

Therefore, we will be heading back over to MK around 4:30-5.
We have dinner reservations at 6pm at 1900 Park Fare. I've tried to move this earlier so it wouldn't cut into party time but it's completely booked so oh well I guess...

After dinner, we'll head over to MVMCP.
Tonight the sole focus will be doing to special character meet & greets. Here is the list I've compiled of who may be there and where they're usually found:

Santa Claus - City Hall
Genie, Abu, Captain Hook, Mr. Smee - Adventureland
Woody, Jessie, Bullseye - Frontierland
Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum, All 7 Dwarfs - Fantasyland
Uncle Scrooge - Donald's Tree Farm
Princesses WITH their Princes - Toontown
Santa Goofy - Tomorrowland
Mickey & Minnie in Christmas attire

I know there are more, but I've only listed ones that I don't have yet. I still can't believe I haven't managed to meet Woody and Buzz yet... Also, I have met all the princesses but I'm really looking forward to meeting their princes too.princess:

If we have time I'd like to go ahead and see the parade and fireworks this night too.

Now, I like to think of myself as a creative person but I am by no means overly gifted in the crafty area. Especially, when it comes to sewing. But, I got this crazy idea in my head that I wanted to make shirts for my mom and I this year. I am going to post them with their corresponding days so, here is the shirt I made us for our first Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (took the idea from the boards):

Anyone been to MVMCP before or going to be there this year? Do you have any more character suggestions?

TTFN and See Ya Real Soon! :flower3:

I also wanted to add that I picked this on my way home from work yesterday:

I didn't get to watch it yet but hopefully tomorrow night! I received a $10 off manufacturer coupon so I got the Blu-ray/DVD combo pack for $16 including tax. Plus, I got it at the Disney store and they were giving out $10 off any purchase (except for on this movie) so I got to look around for something else too! I ended up picking out a new shirt and after the $10 off it only cost me $2.50 ! Can't beat that! I'll post a pic of it later.

Also, I have a shameless plug now:

It's Wednesday Sept. 22 so that means.....

Season Primiere of

COUGAR TOWN on ABC at 9:30pm !!!!!:simba:

Simba is a lion which is kind of like a cougar right? Ok, no but work with me here people and Please tune in to ABC at 9:30pm!

i can't wait to run through the Magic Kingdom, I think it'll be the coolest feeling. And I can't wait to wear my medal around the park after!

I love that shirt!!!!!!!!! You did a great job!!!!!

Great job on the shirt!! pretty idea :lovestruc

Thanks! It was a lot of fun making them so I decided to do a few others. I'll post them with their corresponding days!

Love the shirt, how cute!!! :)

I went to MVMCP last year, and from what I've seen of the characters that should be there this year, no more Scrooge Mc Duck. :( Or the Alice characters, I think they might be gone too. Sad. I waited in line to see Scrooge last year and they swapped him out for Donald before I could meet him.

You MUST see the parade!!! It is my favorite Disney parade ever! I saw the 2nd parade of the night and we watched in Fronteirland, not Main Street, and had a perfect view!

I'm going to try to meet the Dwarfs first thing before their line gets too long, because I don't feel like wasting a lot of party time in lines for characters this year!

Thanks! I was happy with the way it turned out so I made some others that I'll post later. I'm so sad that Scrooge won't be there this year, he was one of the ones I was looking forward to seeing most :sad1:. I definitely want to see the parade!!!! I'm just not sure if we'll see it both nights or just our second night. I'm with you on heading to the 7 Dwarfs first, I bet they're one of the most popular and I didn't want to miss too much party time either, that's why we decided to go twice :goodvibes I know it seems silly to pay the extra money twice but I love the special event parties and wanted to take full advantage!!:santa:

Well, my readers seem to be dwindling a little already so I've decided to spice up my writing style a little bit to see if it helps. Every time we or one of our family members or friends head to Disney I like to write them up a touring plan. So, I've decided to write my update like my touring plan.

Day 2: Animal Kingdom
animal-kingdom.gif

Hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm Extra Magic Hours 5:00pm-8:00pm

Sidenote: In April I dragged my family to AK sooo early and we arrived at 8:20am on a non-EMH day which means we had 40 minutes to wait... However, as Disney magic would allow... We were chosen as the First Safari Family! They pulled us out of line and walked us over to the safari and put us on the ride so we got to be the very first ones! It was sooo cool. We always head to Expedition Everest first so it was nice to get a the different experience that going in the morning offers. Needless to say, my family never gave me a hard time about dragging them to the park so early again!

Ok AK plans:

Alright, this is a big day. Time to pull out all of the stops. The park opens at 9:00am so plan on being at the bus stop by 8:00am. No Later.

After you get through the main gate, head to the path on the far left side of the Oasis. Pause as little as possible and make your way through the Oasis as fast as possible. When you exit the Oasis, cross the bridge to Discovery Island. Head to the right and follow the signs to Asia, you're only half way there. Cross the bridge into Asia and make a right to follow the path along the river towards Expedition Everest. You should be able to see it to know you're going in the right direction. When you reach Everest, grab a fast pass and then go ahead and jump in line to ride. You're definitely going to want to ride this one more than once!

After facing the Abominable Snowman, take the bridge to Dinoland, USA. Hop in line for Dinosaur and travel back in time before head over for a spin on Primeval Whirl. Check the times guide, if the timing works at, go ahead and see Finding Nemo - The Musical. Time permitting, you may want to put your party in line for Nemo and send one person over to grab a Fast Pass for Kilimanjaro Safaris before hand though.

After Nemo is safely back in the ocean, head back to Discovery Island to see It's Tough to be a Bug. If you didn't have time before, pick-up a Fast pass for Kilimanjaro Safaris now. But, keep an eye on the time, you're lunch reservation at Yak 'n' Yeti is at 1:00pm. You will want to be there around 12:45pm.

After lunch, it's time to go see what animals you can find during your two week African Safari on Kilimanjaro Safaris. Once you're back and you've succuessfuly warded off the poachers, take some time to explore one of the walking trails before staking out a spot to watch Mickey's Jingle Jungle parade. I suggest a spot near the Dawa Bar for best viewing.

Check the times guide to see if there are any character greetings you want to check out as you make your way back over to Expedition Everest to twist, climb, and drop through the mountain as your runaway train escapes the Yeti.

There are Extra Magic Hours tonight until 8:00pm. It would be a great time to check out Festival of the Lion King and take a couple more trips on your favorite attractions. Be sure to get some pictures of Animal Kingdom at night. It's sure to amaze. :simba:

Welp, that's our plans for our AK day. We always end up rearranging things a little bit to work out timing issues but we like to have at least some type of reference. We never get upset about having to move things around though.
So, what do you think? Have any suggestions for things I left out that shouldn't be missed?

Also, here's the shirts I made for us to wear this day (I may add some lettering to it but I'm not sure yet):
