Does anyone only stay at their home resort?

We are buying at VWL. We've passed ROFR and are now just waiting for closing.

So we have been talking about what reservations we will make for next year. I'd like to reserve at VWL and then try for BCV at 7 months. We've never stayed in the EPCOT area and frankly, I am curious as to what all the fuss is about. I'd like to try it and see what I think. But DH is in love with WL and wants to go back there (we were just there last month). The way he's talking I'm beginning to wonder if he will ever want to stay anywhere else. Does anyone else only stay at their home resort?

Oh - and I had to really work hard to convince him to buy into DVC and yesterday he says to me "Do you think we have enough points?"

The opportunities are endless. We typically will visit once one year and then twice the next. We own BWV, but will almost always visit VB every other or every third time. We love Vero Beach The other times we visit other resorts for the different experiences.

My DH is like yours. He only wants to stay at our home resort which is BCV. I did get him to try a couple of nights on a cash reservation at OKW. We had a beautiful view and great location but he still prefers BCV.

We prefer to stay at our home - BWV, but on our last trip we stayed at VWL & OKW in addition to BWV due to lack of availability at BWV when we made the change in our reservation.

I personally rather only stay at BWV, dh wants to try BCV, but quite honestly the SAB grosses me out. I have no desire to go in that water. (I know that more of you would wish there were more like me - huh!)

My DH is like yours. He only wants to stay at our home resort which is BCV. I did get him to try a couple of nights on a cash reservation at OKW. We had a beautiful view and great location but he still prefers BCV.

My DH also, he'll only stay at our home resort, OKW. We initially bought at another resort, but once we stayed at OKW and he decided that's the only place he'd stay, we did the sell/buy thing to make OKW our home resort. We also have 100 points at BCV, but we bought those for my solo trips. I love the ability to walk to Epcot when I'm by myself. And I prefer the studio set-up there (one bed and a sofa).

In WDW we only stay at our Home SSR but we do stray off to HHI once a year.

We have three home resorts - BCV, VWL and OKW. We stayed at the BWV once, SSR twice and VB once. Lots of time at OKW, several at BCV and twice at VWL with number three coming up.

We also own at VWL and that is primarily where we stay. We have stayed at 3 of the other 4 on site DVCs. I would only stay at one of them again, not too crazy about the other 2 (no names!! no resort-war thread!!)

Honestly, I would be perfectly happy just staying at our home resort.

We enjoy staying at all of the resorts and that flexibility is one of the attractions of DVC for us.

We have 2 different home resorts. We do sometimes trade out to a different location, but we mainly stick close to home.

We own at VWL & OKW, but tend to use most of our points staying at OKW. I'll be there in two weeks.

We purchased our pts in '03 and our home resort is BCV. We've been to WDW 4 times since we purchased and still haven't stayed @ our home resort.


This upcoming anniversary trip in Oct will be our first stay at BCV!! We've been very happy at VWL, SSR & HHI though.

It was really nice to book this trip so far in advance with the extra time in the window for the home resort - going for the F&WF

We bought where we wanted to stay....BWV. But I'm sure we will be trying BCV, VWL, and VB.....these three resorts are on our hit list. Thats if I can get a ressie at 7 months??????

We own at BWV and SSR. 'Til now, we've stayed multiple times at BWV and OWV, but this October, we'll be at SSR for a few days, before switching to BWV. We're really looking forward to being in our SSR home for the first time . (Given which DVC resorts we bought, I guess we're the kind of people that don't mind "long, boring hallways" ).

We've stayed at them all but HH. We use our points most at the ones we own, BWV, VWL and VB.

We own at BCV and SSR. We have stayed in all the DVC resorts except VB. Vero is on our list for next year. I found when I first bought in, I wanted to try all of them and we planned our trips to be at a different resort each time. But now that I have tried them all, I like to stay at BCV the best because of location, SAB, the beach, proximity to two parks, proximity to EPCOT for dinner, proximity to BWV for evening stroll and Beaches and Cream. I like going back to BCV where it's close to everything but yet feels quiet and away from it all when I need a break.

We own at VWL and have stayed there three, maybe four, times. At one time or another we have stayed at all of the DVC resorts, including HHI & VB. Most of our stays have been at BWV. We have a BWV stay coming up in October and will be going again in December but haven't made a ressie yet. Personally, as long as I am at WDW I don't care which DVC resort I stay at. I would sleep on a park bench if necessary.

I'm in (almost) total agreement with you, but I'd stop short in accepting a park bench as another DVC option!

We own at VWL and most of our stays have been there. We have also stayed at OKW, SSR and BCV once each. We still find ourselves longing to be at VWL. But I think this is natural among owners. You will find a few who wish they owned at another resort other than their own, but all in all it seems most of us enjoy our home resort the most. I guess it feels most like home.

We have stayed at our home resort each time so far. But we will be staying at BWV's on our next trip in October. We booked SSR at the 11 month window - and then at 7 months changed our ressie.

Looking forward to trying a different resort - but I will miss SSR, I really like it there!

Eventually we will try them all!
