Does Anyone NOT like going to WDW at Holiday time?

We usually go down in March, but have decided this year to do a December trip. When we went last March I ended up stalking the Jet Blue website and calling for the difference in price anytime it dropped from what I paid. The result was about 200.00 pp. We still have 3 days worth of park hoppers left from a vacation a few years ago.

We are planning to start trying to have another baby and I could be really pregnant in March. Since the airfare and park tickets are covered we figured that if we went during value season (mid-December) we could stay at the POLY for less than a trip would cost us to stay moderate in March (airfare from Boston to Orlando is a lot pricier in March too).

I used to live in Orlando so I have seen the Disney Holiday decorations many times. Then I always loved it.

Now, I'm back to being a New Englander through and through and I love my Disney vacations as an escape from winter. I like the palm trees and the tropical feel. I know the weather can be quite warm in December, but I guess what I am asking is...

Do any of you feel the holiday decorations take away from the Disney feel and magic to you or do you think it just enhances it?

We love the holidays at Disney but not every trip. We miss the regular music playing at the parks. We try to do a non holiday and a holiday trip each year- to balance it out. ;)

I love going to WDW during December, and since I am a teacher, I go during the busy Christmas week. Although I have been to WDW more times than I can count, my Dh and I took our first Dec. trip last year. We love it so much that we plan to spend the next few Christmases at Disney. The decorations put me in the holiday spirit, and the weather is wonderful (sometimes warm enough to swim, but usually pleasant in the 60's and 70's--although the temp. can drop much lower.) I think going during the December value season would be wonderful. You have the best of all worlds in the first few weeks of Dec.--fantastic holiday decorations, cheaper rates, cooler weather, and lower crowd levels.

Like Kdog said, there are numerous excellent benefits to doing WDW at Holiday time. That being said, I don't prefer it, simply because the Holidays to our family are the most "special" time of the year - so much to do, an excitement in the air, Holiday cooking, family, etc. Living in the midwest we get the benefit of all four seasons, and I wouldn't give that up for many things. We don't mind doing a vacation in very early Dec. but after that it is really getting into too much going on with all the Holiday anticipation and festivities. A WDW vacation is fantastic, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't compare to doing the actual holidays itself at home for us. :goodvibes

Every 3rd visit or so, I try to schedule an early December trip so we can see the decorations. For me, seeing the resorts and parks all decked out is a real treat.:santa:
