Does anyone NOT care for MK?

When we went last summer I didn't expect to really enjoy the MK. I didn't see myself as a "fairytale" type of woman. Although Epcot was my favorite, MK was definitely a close 2nd. I loved Buzz Lightyear!

Well I love MK as a person butas a mom MK is my least favorite for only one reason - once dd (5) goes to MK there is no going anywhere else. I mean she does not want to leave that park. So on our visits we will do the other parks first and then spend a few consecutive days at MK. I have to make do without the MK feeling until the end but it is always worth it to see my dds face at each of the parks!

Not me - I'm 30 years old and Magic Kingdom is still my favorite park. Though I love them all (including Animal Kingdom finally), nothing compares to the Magic Kingdom. We'll be there for 11 days in July, and 4 of those days we'll be at Magic Kingdom - And I"m sure we'll even go back for half a day here and there.

The Magic Kingdom will always be my #1. It is classic Disney and it always my first stop on any trip. I make sure I spend at least 2 days. I will say Disney Studios have gone from my second to my last favorite park as ToT has really lost that appeal to me.

My favorites 1. Magic Kingdom
2. Epcot
3. Animal Kingdom
4. MGM

It was my favorite, then I made my first trip to California since I was a kid in 1976. The DL park is sooooo much better, that it has left me not liking MK all that much. While the WDW resort is the absolute best, DL is the far superior park.

Magic Kingdom is our favorite!!!! It's the first park we go to and the last ( with alot of evening trips in between) If I ever went to WDW and didn't go to Magic Kingdom, OMG!!!!, never mind, it would never happen.
:lovestruc

Since we always go there 1st, I'de say its our fav...

We spend the most time at Epcot. It was our favorite park back in the day with World of Motion, Horizons, original Journey into Imagination, Kitchen Kabaret, etc.My kids always enjoyed the educational aspects at Epcot. We even did the Disney Institute twice. We miss the old things more in Epcot than elsewhere. But the MK, its the only park my kids as teens are willing to get up early for early entry & also do extra night hours. I'll never forget the first time we walked down Main Street back in 1988, my kids were 3 & 6 at the time! We had cupcakes in Mickey's Birthdayland. It was my first time, MK wasn't open until I was in college, so I have no Disney memories as a child except for Walt's Wonderful World of Color on tv. I always felt we were lucky to have only the MK & Epcot on our 1st trip, then the Studios & water parks & eventually the AK. The only "thrill" rides when my kids were young were Space MT & Big Thunder Mt RR. Splash, RRC, ToT, MS & TT, EE are all newcomers. The Studios are actually our least favorite park esp since they closed the actual animation studios. If Star Tours wasn't my son's favorite wdw ride, we might not go at all.
Our first night on our upcoming trip in Nov will be in the MK for Spectro & Wishes.

I don't usually spend more than 1/2 a day in MK, not because I don't like it, but because I visit DL much more frequently so I don't feel the need to spend my time in MK. I'd much rather have extra time in EPCOT and Animal Kingdon.

saying you love Disney but not the MK is like saying:

I love Christianity but not the Jesus part, or

I love America but not Starspangled banner part

In short I'm saying it's IMPOSSIBLE!

Yes, there is more to Disney than the MK, but it's the heart of the whole Disney experience.

Now with that said, it is possible for people who are not truly "Disney" fans, but rather vacation fans, theme park fans, Family getaway fans, to like WDW, and say that they could live without the Mk, because their not truly fans of the Disney experience, but just the atmosphere of a vacation.

But to say I love Disney but not the Mk!

It's like Scientifically impossible. ;)

It's my 2nd favorite out of the parks at WDW. I spend most of my time at Epcot but I do love the Magic Kingdom. :) We usually spend a couple of hours in the morning at the MK and then hop over to Epcot.

There's nothing "scientific" about it, Hawkeye. It's purely a matter of faith.

Those of us who don't rank MK as our favorite are still True Believers in the Disney Magic - we're just from a different sect from you!

I would think that you'd seriously have to have your head examined if you chose to skip MK during a trip to WDW. It is, the quintessential Disney. I could never imagine that at any age. :confused3 :teeth:

:crazy2: :scared:  :faint: The utter horror. I can't imagine.

I agree!! The first time I walked down Main Street and saw the Castle I had tears streaming down my face much to my family's amusement!! And as this happened everytime we went to this park it kept my family entertained:rotfl:

I have no problem skipping the MK because we go to Disneyland all the time and most of the rides are the same or similar. When I go to the MK, I try to mainly hit the rides that are unique to the MK (Hall of Presidents, Philharmagic, TTA) or different from the version at Disneyland (much better Peter Pan, for example, and obviously the castle is more magical, and HM is somewhat different).

Athough I don't dislike it, it's not my favorite...

1 - Epcot
2 - Animal Kingdom
3 - Magic Kingdom
4 - MGM

MK is my favorite park....but if I ever had to skip it for any reason...it would be because it was too crowded and hot, but that's why I go in the winter now....so I don't ever have to skip it!!!!

I couldnt imagine going to disney without going to the magic kingdom.the only down side is no beer:thumbsup2
