Does anyone like planning?!

After scouring the board and reading all your tips and advice, I am now even more confused than I was to begin with! There is just too much to do!

So, does anyone fancy doing me an itinerary?

There will be nine of us, aged between 15 months(x3) 9, 25, 32, 34, 38 and 56. We will arrive at the resort at about 1pm Friday 1st August and will need to leave Sunday 3rd at 3pm.

The only stipulation I have is that at some point we would like to dine with the characters and get a cake for my neice(9) birthday.

We are happy to have early starts , well, with three toddlers you dont get much choice! and late nights aren't much of a problem, either.

So, if anyone fancies a go, it will be much appreciated and I will you forever.

With the size of your party and your visit covering a weekend I'd relax and not get stressed about trying to do it all
It gives you good reason for a return visit

For the character meal and birthday cake Cafe Mickey comes highly recommended from other DISers

I would personally just spend the day in the park doing what you guys want to do... If you're onsite, make the most of EMH....

.... I also recommend coming out of the park for a lunch at Cafe Mickey (It's often quieter at lunchtimes) but I would recommend prebooking for the size of your party.

Other than that, I'd just let yourselves go with the flow!!

Cafe Mickey is fantastic for character interraction (we always have lunch there on our last day, it's like a tradition)- the food is nice, maybe a bit expensive but great! I'd recommend you book the restaurant in advance and just enjoy your time there!

I dont think you need an itinerary as such - but do need to have a bit of an idea what you want to do.
My thoughts are:

You may want to split up and meet up at meal times - this way you will get more done

The Tea party at Plaza Gardens is a good cheap character meal or Lucky Nugget as well as Cafe Mickey as already mentioned

If you are staying on site try to get into the park for EMH (8.00 ) as you will get lots of rides in Fantasyland done - these will appeal to the younger children (and those young at heart) as well as Buzz in Discoveryland.
Also Space Mountain is open for those wanting more of a thrill ride

Spend some time on DLP magic site or buy the Brits Guide -reading the info about each ride/ attraction and decide which ones you definitely want to do then if these are not open during EMH head as soon as they open (usually 10.00 for most other rides)

Pick up a park guide as soon as you arrive and see what time shows/parades are on and work other things round them

Look at the park maps on faq and try to get an idea of what rides are where so you know where you are heading

How about:

Arrive at resort, go straight for something to eat in the Disney Village. Then head into the park and go on some of the rides. Try and catch the parade today...

Next day, head down for breakfast around 7am, then head into the park for EMH (If this applies to you). Head over to the Studios for 10am, catch the 'Good Morning Disney Studios' parade, then go on any rides any of the party wants to go on- The studios are also excellent for character spotting. Then head for a prebooked lunch at Cafe Mickey- This might take a couple of hours with such a big party. Get your cake here. Then head back to the hotel for a little rest (Always welcome!) and then head back into the main park, go on rides, see the shops, and catch the parade tonight if you didn't last night, and stay for the fireworks! If you're hungry, head out to the village for something to eat (I Recommend somewhere like Annettes or the Rainforest Cafe) and hit the shops!

Final day, up early, use EMH to go on any rides you did not get to go on. Maybe head for a quick bite at somewhere like Cafe Hyperion, then set off home.

I've left this open enough to fill in some things you might find out about that you would like to do (EG: Shows, etc).....

Have an ace time, whatever you decide! I agree with A small world that the Brits guide would be a good purchase!!

I know I should just relax and enjoy it but I am such a lanner and this has just got me flummoxed!
