If you are married at the swan and have your reception at Ohana or 1900 park fare can you wear your dress to the restaurants???? I'm sure the answer is here somewhere but I haven't found it yet Thanks so much!!!!!!

I've seen some pics from trip reports of brides in their dresses at Park Fare. I'm having my post-wedding meal there and can wear my dress.

Thats part of why I chose it.



But not sure if having the wedding at Swan/Dolphin would matter.

I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong, but I seem to remember reading that you can wear your dress to the restaurants outside the parks and it's not a problem. You just can not wear your dress in the park unless your event is in the park and you are with an escort, i.e., dessert parties, MK, EPCOT, or other park photoshoots (these are done before the parks open).

Yes you can wear your gowns anywhere outside of the parks. They just don't want you to wear your dress in the parks (except for a dessert party) because you may confuse the guests into thinking you were a character...lol

Yes, you can wear your dress to the resturaunts. When we were there last I saw a bride at Narcoosees in her gown and another at Park Faire in hers.

Yes, we ate at 1900 Park Fare after our wedding and I wore my dress. It is WONDERFUL having pictures of us in our wedding clothes with Cinderella and Prince Charming!

Ie if we have our post wedding meal @ 1900 Park fare can we take pics in the GF lobby etc? Thanks again!!!!!!!!

This might be a bit trickier -- as I know CM are told to keep brides out of eye shot of eachother -- and I know GF is a popular place for receptions. You'd probably have to check with GF lobby to see if there are any other weddings going on that day and if you can have permission to take a few shots... I'm sure the GF brides get first dibs...

I hate to be the bearer of possibly bad news...but according to the mouseweddings website: http://www.mouseweddings.com/weddingfaq.html

Only participants in the Fairy Tale Weddings program receive certain privileges, including the right to wear wedding attire at the Disney resorts

Now having said that, the mouseweddings website is not an official Disney information site. You might want to email Mary (the owner) on that site though and ask her.

I would also ask your coordinator with the Swan/Dolphin to see what they say. It is possible that because the Swan/Dolphin are technically on Disney property that they have special considerations.

I definitely wouldn't recommend asking anyone at Disney 'cause I'm sure they'll tell you no.

I just didn't want you to have an expectation that maybe isn't realistic...

Mouseweddings is very much wrong. Disney hosts TONS of wedding receptions every year without people actually getting married on property, whether that be for religious, personal or costing reasons. I was married off site, but had my wedding dinner onsite at Citricos and being married offsite was never an issue... In fact, it was never even mentioned. I wore my gown and had my photographer take photographs of us in and around the GF without any problems at all

*Edited to add*... and I did actually contact Disney beforehand to check this would be OK... Far from telling me 'No' they were really helpful and complimentary, so it wasn't like they weren't aware that the resturant booking was for a wedding dinner. They even made us personalised menus and it was Laura Kidd at Disney floral who arranged the flowers for the table, linens etc

Well, I was getting really frustrated and upset about booking the Swan feeling like it was a huge mistake but maybe having the post wedding meal and grabbing some pics at a Disney resort will make it alot better STILL wishing I booked an escape but maybe all is not lost....thanks for everything girls, honestly, I wouldn't be able to keep sane without this board!!!!!!!

I had my wedding at the Swan and then reception at Ohana's . I was in my dress and no one stopped us. I did get lots of compliments. We even got some pictures after dinner around the inside of the resort.

I just wanted to say in 2005 my parents renewed their wedding vows at Leu Gardens and they had their "reception" at Grand Floridian Cafe. It was no problem. I hope everything works out for you.

It's always been said here that it was okay to wear wedding attire at the resorts and I never questioned it either. It was only after reading that site for some other questions and I happened to notice that and just didn't want anyone to get disappointed.

Knowing that Disney has begun to tighten their policies about a lot of things (i.e. outside floral and photography), I was also wondering if they were beginning to tighten that policy as well. It's good to know that there is no problem.

Unfortunately, I'm glad to hear you say this. After reading about how much cheaper a swan/dolphin or leu garden weddings are, I began to second guess our Escape booking, but it was too late. Hearing this reassures me that I think we made the right choice. Not to fret though, I'm sure your wedding will be off the charts!!! But thank you for posting your opinion about this -- it made me feel more secure in our hasty decision!

Woo hoo!! This is good news for me too! I'm pretty sure we're having our after wedding dinner at Ohana.

Although I am slightly concerned about dropping all of the delicious meat on my beautiful dress. Wearing white, it's pretty much Murphy's Law I'll spill all over myself. Bridal bib, perhaps??
