I love taking pictures-as my daughter would say "mom will go anywhere to take pictures". Not exactly, but I do try to get out and enjoy what I can locally. Does anyone know of any existing grist mills or covered bridges in North Carolina??

Bost Grist Mill in/near Concord. As an added bonus, you can vist Reed Gold Mine (where gold was discovered in the US) b/c they're in the same area.

Mabry Mill is in Virginia on the lower end of the Blue Ridge Parkway, fairly close to NC depending on where you live. I love to photograph this mill!!!

Sorry, the only pic I had uploaded to Photobucket included DH and I. We were there in early October last year. If you hit around the third week of October, the leaves are absolutely beautiful!

I only found out about Mabry Mill last year and just had to go see it. I actually went there on October 4th, at that time the leaves were just beginning to change but it was gorgeous!! I ended up taking like 100 pics after it took me around 3 hours to get there. I want to check out the one in Concord too. Thanks everyone, keep em coming. Oh, I also want to visit one in West Virginia, think its called Glade Springs-looks really cool!!

I just found out about Glade Creek a few months ago. http://www.babcocksp.com/ DH and I are riding the Harley there the third week this coming October. I can't wait to get pics!!! It looks sooo beautiful.
