Does anyone know why fireworks didn't go off tonight?

It didn't seem windy at all tonight, does anyone know why they didn't do fireworks? Do you think they will tomorrow? Thanks

I’m glad we decided to exit after Fantasic rather than stay and watch. I waited in the esplanade to see if I could catch them there but nothing.

I assume there were winds up higher than we on the ground would notice.

I'm doubtful they will go off today as a wind and fire watch started yesterday. Winds are expected to increase throughout the week.

Yep, if you look at weather reports, there is a high wind watch through Wed or Thurs.

Even when it doesn't seem windy on the ground there can be winds at higher elevation that will cause the fireworks to be cancelled. This is why, IMO, they have added the projection shows with the fireworks. That way you at least get "something' if you wait for 2 hours for fireworks.

It’s not only winds aloft that can cancel but wind direction…even just a 5 know wind in the wrong direction opposite the typical prevailing winds can cause cancelation as it blows the shells out of the designated fallout zone.

Wind is stronger at firework height than on the ground. Trees and buildings take most of it away.

It's so sad! That's my old stomping grounds. It's terrible to see how much is burning, and these winds aren't helping at all.
