On may 5th at 3PM? I read that it's for a "press event."

What is considered a "press event" and why would they need to close down the entire park to the general public for the rest of the day?

This is for the kick off to the big celebration. There will be all sorts of media. They did this back in October of 2003 when Mission Space and Mickey's Philharmagic opened too. I think it's to keep the mayhem down while they hold their press events.

Our local radio stations have been in that situation and they said it was a lot of people for the event. They said that every newspaper radio tv in the country was there. The place will probably be CROWDED so that they couldn't let people in because of the size of the crowd.

Wow, that was quick! Thanks guys!

Isn't that the day the "Soarin'" officially opens? Maybe related to that . . . :confused3

Just be prepared that the other parks will probably be CRAZY! I was in Disney in Oct. 03 when Epcot was closed for opening of Test Track. The Magic Kingdom (also had the debut of Wishes) was nuts with people, actually opened the alternate exits. We were at MGM earlier that same day and it was also very packed.

I wonder if Disney will contact those who had PS arrangements for that evening.I guess they may have not let anyone make a PS for that evening though.Hope so anyway. :earsboy: :wave2:
