I did not know anything about gay days at Disney. I just learned about it listening to an old podcast. It talks about certain days that will be hosted by a different park each day of the week but I can't find a list of which day and what park will be hosting for 2008. If someone has any information on this could you please post it or let me know where to find this information. Dis only has the days listed for 2007. My family will be at Pop Century May 30th to June 7th.
thanks,

thank you but I didn't see anything on either of those sites that tells me what I need to know.
I need to know only for Disney World. Like is gay day MK on Sat., which day is AK, which day is Epcot? like that. Since I am not gay I would prefer to be at a different park on those days to avoid the long lines.
Thanks,

The park schedule is on the calendar you just have to go through the list.

Thurdsay - 6/5 - DAK
Friday - 6/6 - DHS
Satruday - 6/7- MK
Sunday - 6/8- Epcot

The calendar looks really full. When do the Gay Days attendees have time to go to the parks? :confused3

And what exactly is the Gay Days Bear Dance Party? Is that a dance for hairy gay men?:ewok: :chewy:

Thanks, thats just what I wanted to know! Now I can make my new schedule.

Genrally those parks have the shortest lines. Just something I have found over the years when I used to visit during that time. Now we do the fall for the food and wine fest or early christmas.

You are really really close. Here is more than you probably want to know. :rainbow:

Bear is gay slang for those in the bear communities, a subculture in the gay male communities with events, codes and culture specific identity. It also describes a physical type.

Bears tend to have hairy bodies and facial hair; some are heavy set; some project an image of working-class masculinity in their grooming and appearance. Some bears place importance on presenting a hyper-masculine image.

Thanks for the explanation. Wow, I had no idea that being a gay man could get so complicated. Who knew there was a subculture with a code? :confused3 And they say women are confusing!!!

OK....that is freaking funny!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Ok....gay men were always portrayed on televison and in movies as being slim, muscular, and slightly effeminate men.

The Bear community developed in the early 80's as a way of showing diversity. It was a way of showing that not everyone fit in a mold and not all gay men (or women) are instantly identifiable based on appearance.

It was also a bit of a backlash to the stereotype that all gay men dressed like women or wore leather pants and no shirt. Some look like the guy that fixes your car, or works in an office or drives a truck...you get the idea.

It helped a lot of people feel more comfortable about the way they looked and therefore who they were (are).

Not all of us are slim or muscular and heaven forbid...look good in leather pants.

As for it being a subculture.....ok..yeah...I guess it could be described that way.

That code thing....that I'm not so sure about.

Hope this makes it easier to understand.

Kevin

So Kevin, I guess this means you won't be in the Mr. Gay Days Leather contest???? ;)

I cant win every year

Now we know the real reason Kevin doesn't want his picture posted. :rotfl2:It has absolutely nothing to do with restaurant reviews but everything to do with his leather clad body.

I really need to sign up for this cruise, I can send my mom a card for mothers day:rotfl:

We normally go during the first week in June and twice we have been at the MK on it's "gay day" and really enjoyed it because the crowds were low.
I did bring my friends 12 year old daughter with us last year and forgot all about gay day. When we were at the TTC she asked my why two guys were holding hands. I just said because they want to and it's not polite to stare.
I did later explain the gay day thing.
