Okay, I posted this on the "What sticks in your mind" thread, and now it's bugging me all over again. When I was in 6th grade, we sang a song in the Christmas pagent that year about the 10 commandments. It went like this:

"High upon Mt. Sinai, He gave the words we should live by"... and then it's like a fast paced listing of them...

"No. 1, we've just begun, God should first in your life
No. 2's the idol rule, those graven images, aren't nice
No. 3 God's name should be, never spoken in jest
No. 4 the Sabbath's for your worship and your rest..."

I won't subject you to more, but no one in the world I've ever asked has heard this song...even my parents don't remember it, and they were at the concert!

There's 70,000 DISers here...someone has to have heard it, right??

It's from a Christmas musical my kids did a number of years ago at church. I think the musical was called Angels Aware and the song was The Perfect Ten(?) I think I have a video of our kids doing the musical. I'll have DD post later - she still knows all the words. Funny thing is, she and a friend were just talking about this recently and remembering the songs from that musical.

It comes from a musical called Angels Aware published in the USA by Ariose Musical Group Inc. I first heard this song on the radio about a year ago and taught it to my special needs Sunday school class. The first few commandments are:

Number One, we’ve just begun,
God should be first in your life.
Number Two’s the idol rule,
Those graven images aren’t nice.
Number Three, God’s name should be
Never spoken in jest.

You can buy a CD of the music from here. I don't know if there was a particular performer you were looking for. The song is called "The Perfect 10"

Yep, we had a Bible Study here the other night and my friends and I were all talking about this song, there were a few of us who did that musical when we were younger.

I know the other songs from that musical better, lol....

"Angels aware, we're angels aware, aware of the plan behind the plan, of how God is sending his son to man. We get the picture, we understand, we're angels aware"

now all the songs are gonna be stuck in my head...

jfulcer: you ROCK! I wasn't looking for it for any reason other than to confirm I wasn't crazy. I love the sound clip!

nyscraider: I don't remember any of the other songs, but I do remember my (small) speaking part...it was something like "Mary! Joseph! Take the child and flee!" and I was supposed to screech it like I was terribly, terribly afraid.

Do you believe, this was a PUBLIC school Christmas program??
