Does anyone know of a stroller

that is big enough for a 52 inch, 52 pound 7 year old? DD is heat intolerant so walking the parks in August is not really an option! Last time, I rented a double stroller at the parks which gave her plenty of room to stretch out but, with the price increases, I am thinking of buying one instead. Does anyone have one they like that will hold a child this size?

Check into getting one of these. They are the ones they used to have at WDW (literally). The seller sells all sorts of retired WDW stuff. These are the old strollers they had before the new hard plastic ones. We actually got a stroller at Disneyland last year, and this is the same model of stroller they were renting out. It was really easy to maneuver and really comfy for my DS. I plan to buy one before I make my next WDW trip taking my DS.

Good luck! :wizard:

The Maclaren Volo's go up to 55 lbs. I would take her to Babies R Us or somewhere in your area that carries them and put her in one to see how she fits.

Orlando Stroller Rentals has a special needs jogging stroller that is made to hold children to 100 lbs.

I will add to this also, Orlando Stroller Rental has the newer version of the City Jogger available. It is slightly smaller and cheaper to rent than the special needs stroller. It is actually what we rented for my DS in March. I didn't know about these strollers I posted the link for at the time. We paid $80 for 7 nights. The weight limit is 75lbs. OSR will deliver the stroller to your resort and to return it you just leave it with bell services. It was pretty handy! I definitely recommend them. :goodvibes

We bought a Jeep all weather double umbrella stroller for our 5 and 6 yera old boys for our April trip and it worked great. Got it online for $50 new.

When I go in August with my 7 year old little princess princess: (48 inches high, and at least 55 pounds) we are renting a Liberty Special Needs Pushchair from Orlando Stroller Rentals:

I have found at the height of our little girls, they are really too big for most "baby" strollers. They fit weight limits, but if they put their feet down they can stop the stroller (which is real annoying). If they put their feet on the foot rest, their legs are all bent up. The special needs strollers (there are many out there) are designed for bigger kids who still need a stroller. The cost a LOT of money, but they are a life saver if a child still needs that particular accommodation due to a special need.

Renting one on a trip is a great way to try out a stroller you might want to purchase.

My dd 6.5 yrs is that exact size, 51 lbs, 52 inches. We had the Maclaren Volo & it was very very hard to push with her in it. It also seemed like the side braces were starting to bed under her weight. We purchased a Baby Jogger City Classic (not the City Mini). We have the 2007 model (there is very little change) but it can hold up to 75 lbs & she fits in it very comfortably. The best part is that it turns on a dime, has an adjustable handle so that it is easy for me (5'1") and my dh (6'1") to both push. To fold it you just pull the strap at the seat base & it closes. It is by far the best stroller I have ever had. It is the stroller that they rent from Orlando Stroller Rental (or at least they used to rent this model). I bought my stroller online from Albee baby & it is worth every penny. We will be bringing it on our next trip in Sept.

Orlando Stroller Rental is awesome! Check out their website.

If you wanted to buy a stroller, I highly recommend a B.O.B. Revolution. A bit pricey, but so easy to push with a heavier child! We have a duallie, or double, and LOVE it! Pushing my 4 and 6 y/os is a breeze.

DS bought a recommended Mcclearen for dgs 46 lbs for the trip two weeks ago. But, it was tight on the shoulders, and height just fit, feet his legs a bit long and he is not "4"YET!!!!

I know we will not get another season out of it and not sure what to do. I think the model is express or something. It is not the volvo, it reclines and has padding.

I think this Disney one looks great the price is right for sure,
Di

We have a MAC volvo also for our 5 year old DD and it is perfect for her height and weight:)

I read your post this morning and had bought the Baby Jogger City Mini from Albee ($209.00 - no tax or shipping :cool1:) by this afternoon! The mini goes to 50 pounds so I should get a few more years out of it. I have a DS4 who is 36 pounds and 40 inches tall. I was able to go to a store in my area that sold them and put my DS in and try it out. I didn't buy it there because it was more expensive and they didn't have the color I wanted but it seemed great. It road like a dream (around the inside of the store) and folding it up could not be easier! It seemed light enough for DH to carry it easily on and off of the DW buses. Can't wait til it comes! Thanks for the advice.

I'm sure you will love it!! The folding aspect is soo great trying to get on and off the buses, monorail etc. It is by far the best stroller I have ever had, even better than Peg Perego and Maclaren. Good luck with it :)
