Does anyone know how to get to participate in the Parade of Stars at DL w/Pics now

Hi,

On main street about an hour or so before the parade the double-decker bus goes very slowly down the street. Cast members wearing blue and white cloud (yes cloud) overalls, sign up people to be in the parade. Just go over to them and maybe they'll let you be in it. :cheer2:

Good luck

Sooz :flower:

What do you get to do in the parade? Do you just walk along with them?
We are coming over on 2nd August for 4 weeks and we are getting an annual pass so we can spend a lot of time in Disneyland and this sounds great.
Love sasha

They take you to a backstage area behind IASW (I saw this area and what they were doing from the train) and they teach you some dance steps (ballet plus some jumping around from what I saw from the train). In the parade the guests wear tutus (even the men) and dance with one or more of the walking characters.

We were chosen last time we were there and one thing the gal did tell me is that they only chose people with shoes on. No flip flops or the like that might fall off as you are walking with the floats. Also my kids could not do it without someone over 18 doing it with them.

You have to have shoes with backs on them (no thongs/flip flops, etc) and you must carry anything you have along with you (in other words if you have a bag along or purse you have to carry it they can't hold anything for you while you are in the parade) I suggest you use a locker if you have a bunch of stuff and want to be in the parade.

We've done the parade a few times. they take you backstage and teach you the dance steps. The parade route is longer than it looks, especially when you are dancing and it's hot. They will have water for you at the end. If you do it, and others in your party don't, they should meet you at the end of the route. A few years ago when they first started, they gave out colorful animal hats along with the tutus, and you got to keep the hats! Last time we did it we got pins instead.

I did this earlier this year with Zachy and OMG!!!! I was sooo knackered at the end of it - You need to be really, really fit!!!

I had Zachs rucksack with me and they gave me a cape, so I looked more like the flippin' hunchback.

Zach was partnered with the White Rabbit and I had a member of the Goofy family, possibly Nate(wasn't paying too much attention to his name as I was checking on Zach!!)

It went on forever and my face was aching so much afterwards from the smiling. Drank gallons of water afterwards and got a couple of gorgeous pins that are now locked away from his Ebaying fingers - lol!!!

Make sure that you approach them really nicely and politely - goes without saying really, dress comfortably with proper lace-up shoes. No tiny ones and no pregnancies and then prepare to sign your life away on pages of waiver!!! They look like something out of The Wiggles in those cloud dungarees??

I was there during a not so busy time in January and they were practically begging people to be in the evening parade. We were stopped near IASW.

It is very tiring if you're not used to a lot of exercise. I thought it was much like an aerobics workout.

I did it this week and it was fun! We were in the tutu Baloo/King Louie group :)

All 14 people in my group got in though not as one "group" (3 small groups) and it was a fun experiance-

My DH did it. My DS was too young at the time and was so bummed-My DH is a large guy (6'4") and he wore the tutu!!! The pictures are classic and treasured for sure. We had so much fun and it is a true "Magic" moment to be part of the parade. It is a long parade route though so be prepared!!!

<font color=navy>Last year, a bunch of us had a lot of fun at Disneyland, and some even got to be in the parade.

There are three groups of guests who dance with the characters, and a group who hold the rope at the end of the parade. The ones holding the rope on the ends are really impressive with their high kicks ... right Tink33?
