Thank you for asking about us. We are doing as well as can be expected after losing a central figure in our lives. Some days are good and some not so good. Nashua misses Nathan very much (as do we all) and talks to him frequently. He has created an imaginary friend to help himself deal with his grief. Nick has let school go down the drain for a few months. Which is hard to see because he has worked to hard to get into the honors classes that he has. But, he seems to be getting back on track now.
We all catch ourselves daydreaming about Nathan and still find that it is hard to concentrate on what we're doing. We not only miss Nathan's physical presence (his feel and his noises) but his habits (feedings every 3 hours, changing diapers ) as well. We still catch ourselves looking at the clock and wondering if it's time for a bottle. This is the longest we have gone in 6 1/2 years with out holding a "baby" and our arms are weak from longing.
It's going to be a year of firsts for us...our first holidays without Nathan and with Easter just behind us we realized that it's going to be terrible. So in anticipation of his birthday and how lonely that will be, we have given some thought to trying to take a
Disney cruise over that day. The big problem is that his birthday is June 28 and that is the busiest cruise time, so the prices are really high. We are looking into it though so we will keep you posted.
Thank you all so much for thinking about us and praying for us. Please know that even though we don't post that often anymore, you all are never far from our thoughts.
By the way, Peter I am so sorry about your loss. We love- We grieve, no matter if the one we loved was a human or a pet. I'll be praying for you and Jen.
