Does anyone know how Port Canaveral held up?

Follow up to my post and an example of the issues the port has to deal with b4 reopening

this was just posted in a new thread.

http://www.disboards.com/threads/grills-at-port-canaveral-yikes.3552789/

The video is kinda long and kinda sideways when I look at it

but shows a commercial fishing vessel and a tug that appear to have been unmanned and tied together and broke their moorings then were blown into the docks at GRILLS - right into the deck at the outside bar ..... "I hope these guys have insurance"

you would see that all the boats that normally moor at Grills were gone, and they removed their floating dock system for safety .... but the owners of these two, much larger vessels .......

I wonder what the liability is here. Would the vessels owners be responsible for damage caused to the facilities? Or would it be an "act of god" kind of thing? And does maritime law have some special application here?

I am staring at the Port now from the bow of the Dream- the captain just came on to say the head of the port came down from Jacksonville to make the call but that the port still isn't open. I see another carnival ship off our port side and the VAB (Kennedy space center) ahead of us. We are moving forward very, very slowly. We will be staying on board the Dream tonight and leaving at some time after 6am tomorrow. We have been told we will have to disembark at some point today and then will be allowed back on.

That would explain why the marine traffic site shows another passenger ship "Victory" just sitting at what looks like the port entrance.

edited: Sorry. It's not a Carnival ship...I thought I saw Carnival when I was hovering over the dots. It's a passenger ship "Victory".

Okay the port is OPEN- but two Carnival ships will be going in before us due to the fact that they have to off load and pick people up- we might get in by 2:30pm... (the port is only open daylight hours so we have to get in by 6pm). We are currently turning in circles outside the port- I'm using the VAB at Kennedy as a landmark and it's pretty weird just turning circles!

Excellent news!!!

I would NOT want to be the crew on those Carnival ships having to turn them so quickly!!! Unless they are planning on being docked the normal amount of time and just leaving the port later.

Carn ship #1 entered the channel at 1:30 .... DREAM is heading this way but #3 in line
